Been listening to a lot of 2005 lately for some reason. There are some really solid shows and solid playing. Mansfield 2005 run for example is really really strong.

That n1 of Deer Creek looks just awful, based on the setlist. Like, beyond bad.
n2 looks better. I remember the improv with Watchtower. But even that show doesn't look good.

The point of American Baby Intro was to introduce American Baby. Gosh.

Yeah that's a pretty good one. There was a pretty good run going during that show but then it tanked

Mansfield was very fun that year, I feel lucky that was my two night stand that summer.

I almost made Mansfield 05 my first show, but honestly it was more of an idea at that point. I definitely wouldnt have appreciated #34 at the time so i dont regret it that much. I knew i was into the band, but hadnt seen a show (i had listened the shit out of RR disc 2 and CP concert. didnt buy listener supported or Boulder until the winter.). When the winter tour came around, i was VERY close to pulling the trigger and going solo since i couldnt find any friends to go with. That summer i ended up buying a ticket to Fenway N1 and the rest is history i guess.

nothing related to this thread, but those 05 shows were so close to being my first shows its always interesting looking back to me.

I'd be curious to know who on this board had their first show after, say, 2003? It seems pretty rare.

I wish there were more posters here who became fans in the 2010s. I'm not sure there are any at all. Would diversify the conversations more.

They'd be at ants, not sure they'd find their way here.

Youre probably right. For context, my first show was after i graduated high school. I found DMB pretty late in my music evolution if you will. I played drums in school growing up so was always captivated by good drummers. I started with Travis Barker, moved to Stewart Copeland then landed on Carter. Needless to say, he trumped both of them by a significant margin.

I loved the 7.21.05 version at Riverbend, it was only the 2nd time it had been played live and I hadn't heard the debut from the night before so the intensity took me off guard and I ate it up. I still enjoy listening to that version every so often.

9.12.05 is the one I still listen to the most, and then there's 9.19.07 (I wasn't at that show but damn did they blow the doors off that version, it's unique, I only wish we had a better source for it).
