It does say we could return to mitigation for a month or so at a time, ideally staggering areas / cities when doing so. Fuuuuuuck. I would like to think we could start making ventilators at a frenzied pace in order to start to make up that 30% shortage.

Also, I am interested to see what this virus does for our overall death rate. I would think it would start to drop sharply just based on the number of cars off the road and people inside. Of course you’ll have domestic issues and such, but it seems most people will be ‘safer.’

Is this pandemic a sort of natural, ecosystem response to over-population and climate change? Losing 3% of the world population does a lot to reduce our carbon footprint, fossil fuel consumption, creeping spread of development into wildreness, etc. |

Haven’t read the thread yet. The whole thing is absolutely retarded virtue signaling #flattenthecurve. Yup, the virus is serious and the hospitals will get clogged. But is it worth taking our bubble economy and forcing our country into depression? Is it worth handing over all your rights to martial law? The social unrest and violence that will result from the economic implications will dwarf anything corona. I suggest everybody own precious metals and not toilet paper

You’re all on board with the liberals coming to take stuff from other people, but when they come for you, it’s not ok. Nobody cares about your sob story. I’ve stuck up for people like you and you mocked me |

You're constantly pushing for liberal policies to steal from people and give to "more deserving people." Now they want to steal from you - the landlord - and give to the tenant. I don't feel bad for you at all. Hypocrisy off the charts. You're probably in line at the gun shop right now too

The point was that the proposed policy (rent abatement) isn't as helpful as it seems because so many small business owners are also landlords, therefore the policy undercuts itself. It's just shuffling deck chairs around instead of creating a positive change But that's always been far too complicated an analysis for your tiny little reptile brain. Go down to florida and play on the beach with all the other morons and get infected and die together. |

You are higher on the totem pole than your peasant tenants. You're just pissed that they're not going after somebody even higher on totem pole. Typical liberal hypocrisy - take from other people not me! Who do you think these states and municipalities are coming after when their pension funds shit the bed from the stock market crash? Your property taxes are going to be the fucking bank to pay for all the free loaders in your community. Enjoy! |

You're just in denial. You talk a big socialist game and act all sanctimonious when they actually come after your property - which is 100% what's happening. Who could've seen that coming?! Good luck!

The party is over for America. We manufacture nothing, we are lazy freeloaders, and live way beyond our means. It's a rude awakening and it's going to be very ugly (economically), but at least it wasn't a more catastrophic event like a nuclear strike that triggered it. A big chunk of this country makes under $30k/year. You make $50k? You're going to be viewed as a piece of shit 1%er. All these democrat (and republican) socialist policies y'all have been supporting are going to come home to roost. And you're also going to get rid of Trump, good luck with Biden, not that there's a huge difference
