New footage from the RSO show, from the newscrew tapes it seems. Nancies and Satellite in full, then bunch of clips of other songs:

Jeff and Rodrigo Simas (DMB's photographer) spent over an hour talking on Facebook video tonight going over old photos. Pretty cool actually. Lots of inside info.
Couple bits: - Jeff mentions Last Stop is the hardest song to play for him ("the way it shifts and changes") - Every time Dave plays Here on Out, Carter goes behind his drum set and does a yoga meditation. - Jeff shares old and newer photos of his own too, and shows a photo of Dave meeting Taylor Swift. - Rodrigo's favorite DMB songs are #41, Pig and Crush.

The shit Carter’s doing on his cymbals on the studio cut of Stay is fun to listen to.

I don’t know much about drums but I have no idea how he can sound like he’s doing some shit off beat while he’s doing other shit on beat. The older I get the more what he does fucks with my brain.

Randomly watched 41 and Say Goodbye from Under the Table and Drumming this weekend. So many great fills in these songs and so impressive to watch. My dad had this video but I never watched it before.

i was listening to a bunch of Chick Corea this weekend, and as i listened to a live version of Spain, something about one of the solo chord progressions made me think of Dancing Nancies. Jeff should try playing flute on that one, and take one of Boyd's old solos. I think that would be a really rad change to the arrangement!

Stuff That Doesn't Need Its Own Thread (DMBc Version)

Polyrhythms. Drummers are interesting, because not only do all 4 limbs (5 if you count the voice) require the ability to operate independently, the brain has to THEN be able to make some combination of all of those elements operate different timing/signatures over the top of each other (not to mention paying attention to and reacting to everyone else involved). Carter is great for many reasons, but his effortless execution of this is likely what the average listener hears but can’t speak, and the drummer blows his load over ![]() |

I know that Roi was the band's soul, but damn if I don't say this, Boyd was the band's unique sound.
