I said over at Ants that Amy Ryan from Gone Baby Gone deserved the Oscar instead of Tilda.
Plus I think Swinton is ugly. She looks like an underfed crack-whore. |

random fact for the day:
Amadeus and The English Patient are the only Best Picture winners to not crack the Box Office Top 5.

Saw Public Enemies last night. The HD camerawork needs to go. Really, Mann, let it go. It looks horrendous.
6.5/10...Depp was Depp and Bale was, well, miscast. Still pretty good overall though. They should have touched on the Dillinger Spoiler:

Just rewatched The Terminator after 10 years. I had mixed up some of it's scenes with T2. I believe I like T2 better. Arnie's cooler in it.
Paul Winfield and Lance Henriksen are great in The Terminator. About Lance, he was Cameron's original inspiration for The Terminator. |

What happened to the pure comedy? A friend of mine who watches more comedies than I do asked the interesting question of why comedies nowadays must have some kind of moral lesson to them? Whatever happened to comedies like Cabin Boy, Caddyshack, Super Troopers, Shakes the Clown, Almost Heroes, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Bachelor Party and Freddy Got Fingered?

there aren't alot of movies like that anymore gweeps but I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing. The comedies in the last 5-10 years have been pretty great overall, some of my favorites of all time have come from that era. And although alot of them have lessons and a little bit of heaviness at times, many of them are still very irreverent and hilarious. I think that people are looking to make movies that are funny but with a little more depth so they can be taken somewhat seriously.

Whats with movie sequels these days never putting the numer of the sequel in the title? (ex. II, II, III, IV, part1, 2, 3) whats the big problem?
Final destination 4 is coming out and its just called THE FINAL DESTINATION, I mean c'mon. Fast and the furious 4 was just called FAST AND FURIOUS. Are you kiddin me? RAMBO, ROCKY BALBOA, LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD.. ect. I cant remember the last time i saw a numbered sequel

"F-ck yeah, Todd Phillips. Uh, he’s here for the gangbang? But seriously, it’s pretty awesome when someone in Hollywood lays his nuts on the table and ends up proving everyone wrong. Usually the only time you see nuts laid on the table is when squirrels gamble."
![]() but really, this is good news. i don't get his little editor's note on king of the hill though, that show is awesome. |
