3/19/03: 5 years ago today, the best Bartender you've never heard (YSI inserted)
Dave & Tim, Wallingford, CT 3/19/03
Opening night of the tour, first D&T Bartender (I think) The version that I have is really a standout recording. Tim's effects in the intro are very clear and well placed, and Dave's vocal outro goes a bit farther, similar to DMB versions, where subsequent D&T versions always seem to end right when he's about to let loose. Not this one.... so good. :: [Only registered users can see links.] ::

I've heard it. Definitely nowhere near the best Bartender I've ever heard. But still good.

Well, TECHNICALLY, the first D&T Bartenders were from 99.

this was a fun show. It was great seeing tim walk back on the stage with Dave after 4 years. And, no matter what dave says during RCMH, this was the show that happened the night the war started. I remember driving home listening to the play by play of bombs going off in iraq.
The schoeps tubes recording SCB made is highly under rated. It is very dark and rich. The BEF and bartender are great.

Me too.
It was the first D&T DIDO. Grey Street, too. Dave's horse imitation was priceless. ![]() "See he also went to Margaritaville, only he came back with a tattoo. The tattoo might as well have said 'dumbass' but it probably didn't." Great show. ![]()

Speaking of Bartender, it was the only show on that tour that Bartender did not open.

can't believe it has been 5 years since this tour....maybe tim being in the studio with dave again could prompt the two to do a tour here in the states early next year...

I wish they wouldn't have opened with Bartender all of my shows that tour, but they were all good.

at 3/28 i got to see them open with a short loving wings>bartender... and that was my first time seeing any incarnation with of dave matthew's performing groups. so needless to say, it was pretty memorable. and then there was 3/29 the next night which was also pretty damn sweet. granted i was there, but i thought the 3/29 bartender was one of, if not the best of the tour

Nope. Two Step opened at West Point and Bartender was played later in the set.

This is a very good Bar...
After looking though the 03 sets I noticed that Captain was played once on 3/22. I have only heard 'crazy' D&T I am curious as to how captain sounds. Could someone host an MP3 or flac? |
