What are the Everyday songs you guys think are good live staples?

I like D&T WTWE and I will admit there are some good FTTs. I liked Everyday, but only 2006 performances for whatever reason. Like Tomacoo, I do enjoy that IDI in kind of a sick way.

So Right, WYA, IIHIA, Fool To Think, STDH are all good. I would welcome any of those with open arms at a show.

So Right is easily the best ED live song to me. I actually get excited when the opening notes start.
I also welcome WYA and FTT. WTWE, Space Between, IDI, IIHIA, and STDH I’m fine with too, but won’t get excited over.

I welcome any song they haven’t played into the ground the past two decades. This means anything other the Everyday can be played and I’ll appreciate it for its place in the DMB catalog.

So right and Fool to think are by far my favs. What you are is great live too. Space between is my least favourite DMB song. Absolutely detest it.

I think Jeff is fantastic on So Right, has been a highlight for me.

I like Fool to Think and If I Had it All, both much better on acoustic vs electric.

I enjoyed Everyday in 2001/02 when it had a significant #36 interpolation, but I feel it began to drag on and not a fan of Buddy’s contributions.

The rest are blah.

I think Everyday is a good modern rock album from 2001.

I think Everyday was not a good DMB album. The songs have had 20 years to grow and breathe - the only song I really love on it is So Right. I think I Did It is fun, The Space Between is what it is. I guess the only song I really dislike on it is Angel.

I've like both. The live outro always seemed forced to me though.

I really dug that "Devil" intro they did in 2003.

Figured I'd listen to ED for the first time in like 8 years. Some new perspectives popped out at me. The most shocking upon relistening is that Roi is actually more prominent on this album than I remembered. Roi plays all over the verses of IIHIA, which I had no memory of, and he's more prominent on Angel and FTT than I remembered. And of course, he's a big part of STDH.
I also went through a very long phase of hating Mother Father, but have come around to it. I like it now. There's a lot of interesting instrumentation in it.

Some other things:

- The only time you can really hear Boyd is honestly his IDI rap. All his other playing is indecipherable from synths.

- There are Roi/Boyd parts I've gotten so used to live that I'm surprised don't even register on these tracks. For example, the horn line in the bridge of Space Between doesn't even sound like a sax! It sounds like a casio synth of a horn.

- I was a bit surprised Carter sounds better than I remembered on this album. Especially on DOOF, FTT and Mother Father.

- 20 years later I still think Angel is over-hated like crazy. It's also one of the few tracks you can hear sax on throughout too.

- I like Everyday (the song) on this album. It's probably my favorite studio cut from the album.

- SU is definitely worse.

- Due to its lack of Boyd, this album reminds me of Come Tomorrow, though I might actually like ED better. Going to listen to CT right after this. (EDIT: I'm only on Samurai Cop and now I'm realizing that Carter maybe doesn't sound that great on ED after all - he sounds awesome on SC)

My same sentiment.

VITR/Sam Cop/Again and Again are all songs I like better than any off ED, however, as an album (as a whole) I enjoy ED much better.

ED has much better songwriting and is a shitload more cohesive than CT. CT is literally a mish mosh of mediocrity. I actually think it’s only slightly better than SU, pretty much only because of the production, from a song standpoint there’s really very few songs I like on CT.

Also, DOOF is pretty awesome and would be a great live song if they actually tried it. I think 4.0 would absolutely crush that song, especially with Tim and Buddy.

Excluding Busted Stuff, since BTCS:

ED > CT > AFTW > BWGGK > SU

CT and AFTW are a coin flip for me. SU is one of the worst records I’ve ever heard in my life, and BW only has about 2-3 songs I like at all.

I’d rate them, subjectively and without much context, as:

ED 6/10
CT 5/10
AFTW 5/10
BWGGK 4/10
SU 0.5/10 (the 0.5 is for Hello Again)

****

And for shits:

BTCS: 9.5/10
Crash 9.25/10
UTTAD 9/10

LWS: 9.25/10 - had the potential to match BTCS

The biggest stain on DMB’s legacy (outside of Stand Up as an album) will always be that they went from a 9.5/10 band to a 6/10 band and then never again were able to break above “6/10” quality (aka, complete mediocrity). That may be what’s keeping them out of the HOF; in a short period they went from other-worldly to pop rock to dad rock.

Extremely well summed up. Although BTCS is a 10
