Never knew this existed. A Dave demo session from December, 1991.

Yeah that #41 is straight fire from him, love his playing on sugar Will and typical and, dare I say, grey street.

Listened to the 2004 releases this week and this one is my favorite.

It's one of my very favourite all time releases to be honest.

I like Carter's playing under Roi's solo in Grey Street. However, it's crazy how loud and fast Grey Street got so quickly. It goes from being one of my favorites in 2000 and 2001 to honestly a skip most of the time. Sure, some Roi solos stand out (and one or two Jeff/RR ones).

in middle of 2 night run at MSG in December of 2005. Right before this I went through the 3 Canadian nights in April 2002 with Bela and the Flecktones.

It really is a shame, used to be one of my all-time favorite songs (and still is, in terms of the studio version and the pre-08 versions we have)...but yeah I dread it live these days because its just a bunch of noise. And having Rashawn and Jeff battle each other during it makes it that much worse. That song doesn't need and shouldn't have trumpet on it at all, for the entirety of it. Also don't think Tim needs the distortion on it. Tim and RR are the biggest culprits to big, loud, fast. The style they use forces Carter to play louder imo and in general the rest of the band follow suit.

5.2.98 - Montreal - Spring Tour opener. A little on the boomy side, but really nice with a bass reduce.

N1 is a dud, but N2 had some great moments.

I've never been able to get into Spring/Early Summer '98, the BTCS songs sounded so bare and undeveloped, there's just something that feels like it's missing from that tour to me, I need to go back and check out that tour again, it's been a while.

I was N1 MSG '05 as well, it wasn't that bad actually, Recently, Pig, Krasno on Watchtower, Xmas Song/Two Step encore...for an '05 set I was happy, but of course N2 was a shitload better, and was super pissed I couldn't get tickets for it..missed out on that Halloween and the snow etc. But that MSG run was one of the only bright spots of '05.
