I just got a new Taylor 210ce with cutaway! Allows me to play IOY and Shotgun with ease! I love the tabs that are there in the forumwith capo on the 10th... they need to be moved to the main page!

Tabs in general are much harder to come by these days. Most sites now give a bunch of pop ups and most likely some spyware to boot.

Tabs are HORRIBLE to come by now.
I'm not savvy at tabbing songs out, but I wish someone who is would offer to buy the site from him. It deserves better than what it's had the last few years. The guy has just given up on the site completely, despite that fact that it has a ton of loyal users.

If I have the time, I'll most likely tab the new album and throw it up on my old site. It's a lot of work running those sites. Doubt he'd find anyone to take it over. All I had was a crappy geocities site that needed no maintenance and I couldn't keep up. I haven't touched the site in almost five years. Tabbing takes a decent amount of time if you want to do it right.

i'm trying to put together a new forum with all the tabs i have collected from everywhere. anyone interested in helping out? this would be a private forum for dmb fans that are interested in playing music. id like to have album threads with subthreads for every songs and posts for guitar/bass/tim/bela/videos etc. in each subtread all organized and easy to find.
anyone that wants to help out send me a PM. i have already started this project for personal use but i'd like to open it up to people if they are interested. |

I was on the DMB newsgroups back in the day when Jkanter got the domain dmbtabs.com from the original owner and started putting up all the tabs. He was never a really great guitar player and came up with the tabs from painstakingly watching videos frame by frame and from submissions/corrections that everyone sent him at the time. I doubt he has the time to keep doing that.

he had been trying to work with dmb to put a "how to" dvd. it seems when that fell through that he seemed to give up on updating the site.

kanter was actually a pretty solid guitar player... but the point of the site isn't to provide tabs to play the songs well.. its to provide tabs to play them exactly how dave plays them, fingering and all. for that reason, kanter spent countless hours reviewing footage. i'm sure it was much easier for him when he will in college though.. now that hes out in the real world. sure he doesn't have time. would be great if someone could take up where he left off

All the tabs for everything not on the main site is on the boards. The hard part is filtering through all the post to find the final version that everybody agrees is correct.
