My only thing with tipping is this.

Lets say one of my vegetarian friends and I go out to eat. I order a steak that is $40. She orders a salad that is $15.

The server worked equally hard to bring us both. So why is my tip higher than hers?

Because your server is also a vegetarian, even more likely a vegan. (S)he can't stand the look or smell of meat, yet she's being forced to carry and smell something she despises. Damn you for ordering the one meat dish the mostly vegetarian restaurant offers.

Nice

Do and be whatever you like, but vegans are some of the funniest folks on earth.

The one person that I actually spend time with thats a vegetarian gets really mad when anyone brings it up. Like lets say I go to her house and we are trying to figure out where to go out to, if someone says "Oh hey can Athena eat there, she's a vegetarian" she will lose her shit. Unless someone recommends a seafood place she is cool.

But now there are a bunch of vegetarian and vegan restaurants in the area.

I suppose there are usually options for those people at regular restaurants, but you’ll never catch me in a vegan/veggie restaurant: no options for normal, sane people.

I am always a good tipper, alway tip and cash, and hand the tip directly to the server. Then they fight over me when I go back. I like that

I could never be a vegetarian. Not way.

But there is a brewery and smokehouse here that I love that has vegan alternatives to it's meat products. My friend and I both ordered the carnitas tacos. Except she got the vegan variety.

They were damn near identical. It was impressive.
