When I worked for Apple the relocation benefits were insane. You could apply for any position anywhere, they flied you out for the interview, put you in a nice hotel, gave a meal stipend, etc. Then if you got the position, they’d help you get rid of your mortgage, assist with purchasing a new home, pay for all the airline and moving expenses...

Not around here. Very few are corporate owned, and they are generally big flagship types.

For example, here is a list of Hyatt owned hotels.

It seems like there are enough hotels in town that you can burn bridges. I’d be going to all those interviews just to see what they have to say. It’s questionable whether you’re really burning a bridge by quitting to get a better opportunity. Companies respect people who do that (in my opinion) even if it is an inconvenience

On your first point, that was what I was going for when I got my job at the seelbach. When I started the management company owned close to 1000 hotels around the united states and Europe. Then they sold it about 3 months after I started.

As for curios, the one in Lexington is a franchise. I assume most are.

Ah I edited. Well Id try to get back on track with a corporate job so you have mobility to transfer. Seems like your skills are in demand, take advantage of it

When I was in college I did room service at Embassy Suites. It was a sweet gig. 18% gratuity was already added in but it was very poorly marked and no one noticed because they wanted you out of their room asap so they could go back to banging their secretary. You got double tipped on like 80% of your orders. Lots of hot college girls worked as servers as well and the room deals were amazing. It made touring w/ phish and dmb quite easy.

schadenfreude

So the entire reason I quit my job at the Home2 in Lexington and moved to Louisville was because the management team there was so terrible. For over 2 years just garbage after garbage after garbage. I spent the last few months practically screaming about how terrible it was to upper management and was ignored and brushed off.

A few days ago the entire management team at the hotel was fired.

Hate to say I told you so...

I'm just saying. I was bad at shop calls so I can't get a promotion, but we've got managers selling drugs...

Yep. head of maintenance was dealing. AGM knew about it and let it slide. But god damn it I forgot to say "How was your stay?" to a secret shopper.

Yea, that is horrible and your hotel sounds like it is a cancerous work culture. I'm glad that they got what they deserved then.
