Live Trax Vol. 10: Live From Pavilion Atlantico, Lisbon, Portugal - May 25, 2007

I'm pretty anal about this for some reason. All numbered as one disc.

Live Trax 18**Virginia Beach Ampitheatre, VA

I'll use the venue name then the state it was in, or if it was named for a special event I'll use that instead like

Live Trax 19**Vivo Rio, Brazil
Live Trax 4**Crash Release Party, VA
Live Trax 9**MGM Grand, NV II Night 1
Live Trax 9**MGM Grand, NV II Night 2

If I need to look up the date, it's pretty easy, not something I worry about, but I'll use for DMBLive:

DMBLive II 2002.10.24 II Benaroya Hall, WA

I like to have the whole live trax on one disc as well. Makes it so much easier when in the car listening to it on the ipod. Don't have to worry about going to the next disc when its done. Just when the whole show is over.

For me, everything gets labeled as
YYYY-MM-DD City, State/Country

Be it Live Trax, DMB Live, in store releases or even audience recordings. That way they show up like this everywhere. I personally couldn't care less which Live Trax it is.

i keep them all listed as one show, so when i start from the beginning i can listen to the entire show without switching. i still have each disc labelled as such, though...

I do that for AUDs only. Official releases should be labeled by their released names.

Live in Chicago
Listener Supporter, etc.

I put the show date in the notes for those releases.

yep

this reminds me - what do you call the bonus disc that came with Live in New York City? "The Big Apple" or "The Big Apple Bonus Disc"?

i tend to go with what the actual artwork says, so in this case i just have it labelled as "The Big Apple"

how do you label your Live Trax albums?

Fair enough, I still couldn't care any less about the name they give it. I'm really only concerned with the date and where it took place. Besides, I really like to scroll through the live albums in sequential order instead of ordered by when they were released or what their name is. For other bands where I may only have one or two live shows, I probably use the name they give the album, but for bands like DMB where I have a lot of shows I use the date.

I also use the genre to distinguish what type of release it is (studio, live, live aud, live sbd). That way I can easily navigate or shuffle only the live releases. Then I store the actual genre or other tags in the grouping (like "acoustic cover rock single"). This has made it super easy to make any smart playlist I could ever want. It takes some time at first, but I love it.
