was a good song

Shotgun and Grey St. were soundchecked, along with some notes of Bayou and something that sounded kind of like Loving Wings.

i'm sure we're close to having audio of this, but could people that were there review the song a bit more? how long was it? what was it about? were the lyrics seem set or was dave just mumbling? did it have distinct verse, chorus, and bridge with varying progressions for each? sorry for asking so many questions...

edit... nevermind. we're about to have video

the words seemed complete, or close to. it wasn't improv, it had structure. very pretty song.

It was slow and soft. Definitely not bouncy. I didn't really enjoy it that much from the front of section C.

I thought it was pretty slow. obviously very quiet, starts off with him sliding up the guitar on a couple strings a few times and then there is some D minor and E minor chords thrown in during the verses. talking about obviously taking a chance and risking it all to hit the jackpot and how everyone has a dream that sticks with them like a scar or birthmark.

well, from the little bit I heard it sounded like a quiet song. I made out lyrics about a truck and a blind spot.

i liked the song a lot. there were parts of it that reminded me of loving wings, but it had more "changes" in it. where loving wings is pretty much straight the same rhythm, FOTR had chorus and verse. very pretty song, played on the IOY tiny guitar. it ended very abruptly, but dave said it's not done.

That was a pretty song. Not really much else to say. The guitar sounded a tiny bit like the shotgun intro at times, but it just seems like a little song.

i thought it WAS Shotgun at first, which shows how much I know the new songs. same guitar, same feel.

My goodness, I wish the people in that crowd would stop yapping so I could hear the recording.
