Take a look at a DAC/Headphone amp combo. I've had this for quite awhile.

I'll admit, seeing those tubes just like my old 70's guitar amp is enticing! But yeah for my purposes ATM the other one seems best. Thanks again guys, I'll let ya know how it turns out Mitch.

Pretty sad that I'm getting close to 2TB of albums and I had no idea I wasn't capable of listening to them properly

So I just got this insane player from my grandparents and trying to fix it up but I was wonder what are some staples that I should get? If you were trying to say, here, this will show you why vinyl is better, what would you suggest? My mom brought me here old records from this player and she had first pressings of Zeppelin 2 and Dark side! Also lots of Beatles.

I just know it's a sylvania and it's really old. It has tape in and tape out on the back. It's a pretty big cabinet, made to look like a piece of furniture in your house. I'm fixing to add new speakers to it today, but surprisingly it still has insane bass and treble.

I was looking at discogs, saw workingmans dead for about 6
Bucks I want that shit.

For those of you who have been looking for awhile how hard is it to find Metallica/guns n roses/dead/Paul Simon and stuff like that? I went to a store yesterday where unless you paid insane amounts for the reprint they only had crazy stuff I've never heard of.

Guns N' Roses isn't too bad. Maybe $30 for original pressings.

That's not bad. I picked up shakedown street, skeletons and made in the USA on discogs for 22.

Going to pick it up then. My old record player has a tape in av cable spot and I've actually plugged my phone in to it and it's pretty sweet, but it also has tape out av cable spot, would that be for headphones?

There are two Fillmore live albums that I highly recommend if you can find them.

Humble Pie - Rockin' The Fillmore
Allman Brothers - at Fillmore East

Also Jimi's Electric Ladyland is an eargasm.

So, thanks in large part to you fuckers in this thread, I am on the verge of buying my first turntable since the mid-80's. I think I'm going to get [Only registered users can see links.] , only a couple of hundred bucks and made to order by a small company in Boston. Won't be delivered until late May, but I'm gonna make it my Father's Day present anyway.

Nice, that's a good call. You're welcome!

Also, grabbed a coppy of Zeppelin III the other day for $14 shipped on Discogs.

Ill have to check out this discogs you guys always mention once I get the table going. But one of the main things I look forward to is being able to browse in record stores again!

welcome to the dark side. If I can make a suggestion, I would recommend the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon or Rega RP1 as an entry level table instead.
