Very bummed to hear about Paul Bearer. I knew a few people who worked with him & always said nice things about him.

I dug the opening of Raw - Taker returns & Punk promo. I didn't need the other 3 coming out (all feuding with Shield) or 4-way, but Punk needed a strong/clean win after 3 big losses.

Try naming another manager that essentially helped mold and create a trio such as Mankind, Kane, and of course, The Undertaker. Growing up I was a total mark for him and when he disappeared for a bit after the Unholy Alliance with Big Show when Taker went down with an injury, I thought maybe he was finally gone. As a 15 year old you didn't quite get the idea that NOBODY disappears permanently in professional wrestling. Nevertheless, THIS moment got me to jump out of my chair at 11:00PM on a Monday night in February 2000 and squeal like Paul Bearer would OOOOHHH YEESSSS:

This shoot interview with Cornette is great. The last quote really rings true now: ""...and as long as there's fans out there that enjoyed what we've done through the years, Paul Bearer's never going to die!"

And while the match was underwhelming...hearing the "OOOOH YESSSSS" signaled the return of the Deadman and elevated a regular match.

All three of them took time to talk with and engage each person they spoke with. It was really cool to see them.

I'd love if Punk ended the streak at WM

Well yeah it would be quite awesome, but I just don't see it happening. There are far too many factors pointing towards a Taker victory:

1.) This is now a personal match for Taker. If Taker loses, then the storyline was for naught. This has to culminate with Taker getting revenge on Punk and honoring his father, kayfabe of course.

2.) The Streak is bigger than Taker. Taker is a consummate professional but I think that Vince wants the Streak to outlive Taker inside and outside the ring. If Taker were to lose, it would have happened already. At this point, Taker losing defeats the purpose of the Streak.

HOWEVER

Undertaker is running the show here. Rumors have always floated that Taker wants the Streak to end and for him to pass the torch. However, losing to Punk doesn't really serve a purpose here. Punk is already waaaaaaay over(if you don't believe me, look at the amount of cheers he received AFTER interrupting Paul Bearer's memorial service at the beginning of RAW last week). The guy is a heel, but he's not a hated heel in the way HHH was in his glory days. Punk is a mischievous likeable heel that has shades of Flair, Austin, and Savage. Okay, I'll stop sucking his dick but you get my point. Punk does not need the win. Even after losing he can sell himself to the fans.

This is going to be one of Taker's most personal Mania matches in a long time, probably since he faced Kane again at XX. This is going to be a good one. Enjoy the ride. Hopefully it's not the Last...

Punk needs someone else like him, but there's no one out there to fit that mold. Like Rick Rude and Jake Roberts were the best things that ever happened to each other. But Punk doesn't have that guy -- that guy who can be subtle, not over-the-top, believable, skilled, and still deliver a killer promo.

Went to the lexington comic con today and there was a q and a with Jim cornette. He reallllly hates Batista.

Also he said that when Sunny was in wwe her and Paul bearer hated each other. And all the wrestlers would prank Paul and blame it on sunny and he would go nuts

Also during his rant about tna he said that Sting wanted to retire years ago but tna offers him an obscene among of money to work one day a work.

I don't keep up with wrestling much anymore so I have no idea if that's common knowledge, but thought it was interesting
