Yeah, like I said earlier, I would have taken even 10 more seconds before that fade

I'm holding hope bkdkdkdd is a dramatic reading of Boyd's text messages.

It's just Boyd whispering "I'm in full jerk right now" and then BAM! VIOLIN SKREES!!!!

as many people have said before that would require thought on the part of the band which they don't seem to have at this point. With that being said it would be nice

This track has a lot of good and bad things about it. First of all, it's a good song. Dave, Stefan, and Tim all sound fantastic.

There are some glaring holes in the mixing and production that really bring it down for me. Dave's keys are way too quiet, which is disappointing because I feel like they really pace the song and give it a contemplative feel. Carter and the horns are entirely lacking - I almost can't believe they didn't lay down the awesome horn licks that they wrote. It's totally empty and not as catchy without them.

I'm really hoping there are some bigtime quality horns on this album because the three songs we've heard so far have nothing. I really want to hear Jeff and RR heavily featured.

This really is the glaring weakness, I think. The too soon fade-out sucks too, but its missing the actual solo where a solo should be. All there is is the backing rhythm

I really like this. I like what Stefan is doing. I like the fluctuations in the vocals, honestly one of the best vocal takes from him in years. And it’s a piano song that’s not boring as fuck.

I love it. The song is just stellar. Excellent pace, groove and melody. The things you guys are complaining about it are the things that make it good...the less is more school of thought. There are snippets of things in there that just get your attention and then leave you wanting more. This very thing is what DMB has been missing lately - they seem to want to pack every studio track with entertainment. Sometimes not revealing the whole deck - and in fact just showing a couple cards - make studio cuts more intriguing. This is the best thing I've heard from DMB is a long long time.

I can’t stand this song. I was never able to get through a live version and I really almost turned this off around the first chorus. I barely remember anything about it. I don’t think I even heard the fade out.

Agree. Song has so much potential and feels empty without the horn licks they played live...
Yet, still the best of the bunch weve heard thus far...vocals are on point.

Not bad at all. Love Stefan’s work.

Better studio effort than Samouri Cop and the abomination that is called That Girl is You.

Really looking forward to The Idea of You.

Instead of "It's free real estate." Boyd says "It's full jerk time."

The more I listen to this, the more the differences from the live versions actually become a good thing. Studio versions are a chance to explore a different feel from the live version, and this does that.
