Yep, sure were. Yet another reason why I love these guys:

The new Foo Fighters comes out tomorrow for those that like them. I for one am stoked, one of my favorite rock bands. Finally got around to listening to the first single "Run" with headphones...there's some nice stuff going on lower in the mix in the background.

It's Foo so you know what you're gonna get and I'm totally fine with that, haha. :

WOW, I wasn't expecting this album , this is REALLY good IMO. I'd let this one ride, front to back no problem.

Hot take here but I just can't get into the Foo Fighters. They definitely have some bangers, but there's just a bit too much of a generic nature to their music. They do what they do well but to me it seems like they've been making a slight variation of the same album their entire career and for having their level of popularity they don't have a catalog that makes you go wow. Dave Grohl is an awesome guy and I can certainly listen to them but I don't think they're an essential band by any means.

You nailed almost exactly how I feel about their music but I'm always up for listening to new music. To those that have the new album; what do you like about it? What's got you excited?

I agree completely. Aside from the first couple of albums, I'm not a fan of much beyond a few singles.

They're one of those bands I've always really liked from the beginning. I love the first 2 albums, The Colour and the Shape is one of my favorites, but wasn't very interested beyond some of the singles after that. Then Wasting Light blew me away. I listened to Sonic Highways again this weekend and it's got some good stuff on it. I like the new one enough to go back to it every once in a while.

I like the harder edged rock quality of a lot of their stuff, good lyrics here and there, and yeah, Dave does seem to be one of the nicest guys in music.

I get the criticism and folks that enjoy only the singles, but damn I'm a sucker for these guys. For the most part, you know what you're getting every time and I take solace in that...I know that I'm gonna hear a buncha guitars, drums, big riffs and hooks galore and that's fine by me. They are the band that keeps on keeping on and gets even the most casual rock fans jamming out. They're not gonna challenge your ear all that much and that's fine, they're about energy and creating a holistic rock experience. Also, I'm drunk.

I reeeeeeeeeeally like the Sonic Highways series. Enjoyed the album more after watching.

This latest album isn't doing much for me, but I doubt I'll ever stop buying their albums.
