podcasting has been so great for comedy. pretty much every "alternative" comic has their own podcast these days. i've been loving Doug Loves Movies, WTF With Marc Maron, Comedy Death Ray (Comedy Bam Bam now), Never Not Funny, and certain episodes of Nerdist

Yeah, I can see that.

I agree with this. I can't remember the last time I listened to one of his jokes, they just got so old, so fast.

I love Bill Burr. He does a podcast with Joe deRosa that is absolutely fantastic. I'm really behind on listening to it, but it's just genius stuff.

It sucks that he moved out to LA, because he used to do Opie & Anthony on a fairly regular basis and it was always amazing radio.

I completely get that which is why I mentioned the DMB general following.

You're absolutely right, BUT, Dane has had some bits where he's admitted flaws and gaps in his own life and personality so it's not like his routine consists of him telling the audience how he's perfect and you're not. His persona most definitely comes off as if he's the coolest guy in the room and to be honest...that's part of his marketing. His persona plays a log with his delivery. Again, I'm not defending the guy saying he's a great comic, 'cuz he's not. A lot of visual comics tend to fail because their bits never translate well beyond the audience they're performing in front of, but I think Dane was one of the few who could do that style and have it translate on an album. That's not an easy task, imo.

Definitely another favorite of mine. It's been taken down, but there was a 2 minute clip of him performing in front of primarily an all black audience and he did a bit where he talked about being at a bar with another white guy who said "the N-word" and how he reacted to it. It was great and a bit that, even though politically correct, most comedians wouldn't dare do in front of an all black audience. He's just a fantastic comedian all around.

His Yanks WS rant was great.

And of course who could forget his legendary rant towards Philly and their fans on the virus tour. He's so awesome.

John Pinette. Mentioned it in the misc. thread, before realizing there was this thread. Guy is hysterical. Not a bad joke in his entire "I'm Starving" routine. It's on netflix instant btw if anyone has an hour to kill laughing.

everyone needs to listen to this before it isn't free anymore. it's a 2 part interview with one of the head writers for The Onion, Todd Hanson. the first takes place in a hotel room, unbeknownst to Maron, where Todd tried to kill himself. so during the 2nd part Hanson's able to talk about it in detail, and it's fascinating/horrifying and just a must listen.
