Speaking of Bruce covers, check out Brian Fallon (singer from Gaslight Anthem, a spectacularly good band from Asbury Park that is very Bruce-influenced, for anyone who doesn't know) covering Backstreets. Killer stuff.

Also, there is a cool new band called Free Energy that covers I'm Goin' Down. That one is on Itunes.

Hyperbole aside, I honestly think Gaslight Anthem is the best band on the planet right now. All 3 of their albums are just incredibly good. I keep expecting them to really break through commercially and start filling clubs in every city.....but it hasn't quite happened.

They also do a sweet "State of Love and Trust" cover for the PJ fans out there.

Back to Bruce, I hope there is at least one more E Street tour before they call it quits. Clarence wasn't looking so good on the last tour.

Agreed about Gaslight, one of my favorites. Perhaps I'll start up a thread on them. But yea, I saw Bruce for the first time last tour and it was amazing. I'd love to see them give it one more go.

from what i've heard, he'll continue on with as many members of e-street that are willing. but with clarence's health and federici dying these last few tours have felt like a final last true e-street run

It was the first show that it all really clicked for me. I absolutely love it and still listen to it more than any other ESB show. If you want a song to show off Bruce's chops, download The Wind and The Rain by Steel Mill (one of Bruce's bands before ESB). Insane

Picking Jungleland as his best-ever song is easy, I think. Picking #2 is much harder......

Atlantic City would probably be his second best, imo.

the sax solo through the "poets down here don't write nothin' at all" and the final "WHOOOAAAHHH"'s is the sweet spot for me.
