Might as well. It’s not like we’ve got anything else to do.

I gave it an 8 because both the production and the songs are better than Big Whiskey. But it's probably a 7. I only go back to a few of the songs now. And the album could have benefited from jettisoning a few of the songs for the better older unreleased ones.

The Riff is not overrated. It has a creepy atmosphere. Love it.

Broken Things, If Only, Snow Outside and Drunken Soldier are my favourites.

Gaucho is nice, too.

I love snow outside, broken things, rooftop and drunken soldier. It took awhile, but the riff and mercy grew on me quite a bit. Also, I think they did a great job with belly nice production wise. A few throw away songs, but nothing outright offensive. It’s my favorite post-2000 album, for whatever that’s worth.

Does Diggy Lessard have an album out yet?

I at least “like” 6/11 songs. Six divided by eleven is .5454, which I’ll round up rather than down because I’m a fanboy.

So it gets a six. Barely. But really only Broken Things, If Only, The Riff (barely), Rooftop, and Snow Outside do anything for me anymore.

Pros:
- Broken Things, BBN, Rooftop, Mercy, If Only and Gaucho are good songs
- Snow Outside is a great song, and I adore the production on it
- There are no outright bad songs on this album
- Production is mostly good
- Boyd is audible and sounds good
- It was nice to see what a Lillywhite reunion finally looked like, and to close that loop finally.

Cons
- It mostly doesn't translate very well live
- The lyrics to Drunken Soldier and Gaucho are such a mismatch, they genuinely ruin what could have been really good songs
- Whereas the "skip" songs on BW were all at the end, on AFTW they're all smack in the middle of the album, destroying my urge to listen to it in full ever
- Sweet and Belly Full don't really belong on this album (one solo song is enough, two is too many, especially in such close proximity - just like on Come Tomorrow with Here on Out and TGIY)
- There are no songs I'd consider DMB classics on this album (unlike, for example: WIA, Shake Me, and Seven which all feel like modern DMB hits that both the band and fans like)
- This is a stupid one perhaps, but I don't like how the album artwork tried to repeat the successful formula of BW, with Dave's drawings and a similar colour pallette.

This is pretty spot on and I agree with almost everything (though I don’t think Shake Me or Seven have become hits or fan favorites I think a lot people hate those. Seven got overplayed.) otherwise what you said is EXACTLY why I dislike AFTW and

also the fact that lyrically it’s at times the worst stuff Dave ever wrote while certain songs on the album are some of his best post-05 stuff..just an incredibly inconsistent album overall which is what the last 3 have been—a couple of decent tracks, one gem maybe and a whole lot of subpar-awful.

I feel like it would have to be under 17%. But also, Stand Up should be under 17%.

I've never actually listened to True Reflections, aside from the title track. This could be a fun one.

Most of us have never listened to it all the way through. Pretty meaningless to do it.

Rooftop, Snow Outisde, and Drunken soldier are solid. There wasnt an album with a strong finish since Lillywhite's last completed DMB album.

It's a 7 to me, just like BWGK. Those two are pretty even in my eyes, with BWGK having the slight edge in my opinion.

I like most of the entire album though Snow Outside, Broken Things, Drunken Soldier, and Rooftop are my favorites. Mercy and If Only (sometimes) are often skips.
