I see no reason at this point that it couldn’t be both. It’s obviously going to force them to do some arranging, but I would think that any song that they could make work well with this new lineup would have to be on the table. They’re already working on new songs. Seems like as good a time as any to refresh some older ones too. They’re obviously giving themselves the time this year.

Yea this is more or less how I look at it as well. I tend to delineate 2.0 as 2001-2007 but that's more on using the LWS>Everyday thing as sort of the end of that initial era of the band from inception to 2000. 3.0 to me 100% started in 2008 when Tim joined.

I would love to hear Pig live without an out of tune violin at the beginning.

Also, it's not a big sample size, but these guys usually get a kick up the ass and put together some good shows when someone new joins or there's a line up shake up.

I'm with you John, I think this going to be a net positive. And It's very much 4.0 now.

Buddy may not have been my first choice (and Rashawn leaving isn't going happen either), but I'm excited to see where this goes. Everyone on that stage right now is a competent musician. Make it interesting again.

I think the band will sound really good on songs like SW, Seek Up, Rapunzel, Typical, Two Step, etc......

Hopefully Tim will be turned down a bit.

This is accurate. Hopefully this line-up change will cause actual effort and creativity.

They're rehearsing as I type this and keyboards can be heard, so I'd say that confirms Buddy for anyone who was still in doubt.

The songs they have rehearsed so far though...yikes

We have confirmation that they’ve been rehearsing for one day (maybe longer, but we only know today for sure). It makes sense that they’re going to start with some of the simpler and more well-worn songs, which are generally not favorites around here. You can’t really judge anything at this point. It’s be like deciding that a football team is going to suck based on their first day of practice with a brand new receiver.
