I mean, I know I'm not that particular, but is a set with Minarets, Pig, LIOG, JTR, Last Stop, and that encore really considered not great?

So I just went to the Pearl Jam Philly and MSG shows. It's gong to hurt gong to Cville this weekend, in comparison

ouch, all your guys sets are I think far too optimistic. I fully expect crap like Shake Me, Can't Stop, Sister, You And Me, Funny, Thank You, etc. to sneak in there somewhere (not all of them for fucks sake but a couple here and there). I think we'll be lucky if that's not the case. and I also think stuff like Pig, Recently, Typical and Last Stop is also really going out there. I believe if it's a really good set the best we can hope for is a greatest hits set, very very similar to CP, but probably shorter. I'm going in with that in mind, and if they bust some awesome stuff out, I will be absolutely thrilled but there is no way I'm going into CVille thinking Last Stop could be played. I will shit if that happens.

Seriously, take the CP setlist, and replace some of the songs with more recent ones and a couple of different rarities and that's probably what we're looking at.

Don't bother, I'll do it for you:

DDTW
So Much To Say >
Too Much
Granny
Crush
You Might Die Trying
Why I Am
Dancing Nancies >
Warehouse
What Would You Say
Ants Marching
Shake Me Like A Monkey
Lie In Our Graves
Help Myself
If Only
You And Me
Jimi Thing
Two Step
Watchtower

Sister
Grey Street
Stay

Billies

And That's probably best case scenario, and you know what? I'd still be very happy with that.

Why all the second encores? That hardly ever happens.

I agree. The 5 days of rehersal suggests something.

I think it's fairly balanced with a song from every album, some crowd pleasers and a few bones for the hard cores. I left some tired stuff in there like Jimi and grey street for good measure.

Funny is not a bad song. It was even better when they were doing the intro but then they stopped doing it ala typical Matthews band.

I don't think that intro had staying power, personally. Cool when they did it and it would be nice if they did it occasionally, even sort of like how Warehouse has a few different styled intros, but I don't want the three minute repetitive jam every time they play it. I love it when I hear it occasionally.

Like the song.

Agreed. It being a 'single,' but not beaten to death the last few years is refreshing. If they were to mix up that one, I Did It and American Baby in some sets this year, I certainly wouldn't mind.

I like the song but Dave usually sounds like shit on it. Same with American Baby when it's popped up in recent years.

Funny IS a bad song, with some of the cringiest of lyrics. Even by recent Dave standards.

This is accurate, minus the double encore. It'd be hard not to be disappointed in this set though, just pure safe softballs, every one.
