I'm not sure it would surpass BTCS for me, but it would definitely be firmly planted #2.

This thread had me re-visit a few Lillywhite songs, especially Captain and Big Eyed Fish. The interplay between Roi and Boyd on both songs is stunning. Incredible production from Lillywhite and both musicians knocked it out of the park.

Sax/violin interplay and harmonizing was one of the best things about the band in it's heyday. That sort of fell to the wayside in later years songwriting.

The outro on Big Eyed Fish could bring a tear to my eye if I let it.

I've always loved DMB for their live music rather than studio. Definitely gonna be an unpopular opinion, but for me, BTCS is the only album they did that cracks my top 50 favorite studio albums. LWS definitely was on its way to being in the same ballpark though IMO, I agree with all you who said that.

Nothing whatsoever against UTTAD/Crash, I just seldom listen to them over live versions of those songs.

that and Captain are something else. Definitely taking all that went so right on BTCS to a new level they had yet to achieve.

and then Everyday came out

Roi brought a tear to my eye with his playing on Bartender more than once. He and Dave really drew me into loving DMB. I still love Dave dearly but it's been such a rocky road since 1999.
