Kinda wish they totally remastered/remade Mario 64 with new graphics altogether. I can't even tell what's different in this version. Looks like the DS version they released ages ago.
Youíll enjoy Sunshine and Galaxy 1 for sure!

I hear you on Mario 64 too, I think a lot of people were expecting them to fully remake it. The visuals are definitely sharper in this if you watch comparisons with the original game running on an N64.

Iíll take it.

Also - if you do get a Switch, make sure you pick up Mario Odyssey, which is no bullshit my favorite Mario game of all time.

There is a rumor of a 4K Switch Pro being released early 2021, so it may be best to just wait until then anyway.

Yea, thatís definitely being rumored behind the scenes though. Iím not convinced that it will be a ďProĒ model though. I think Nintendo may instead just use NVidiaís new AI upscaling technology. it is a pretty cool thing though.

I have a Switch and dominated Odyssey long ago. What a terrific game.

I'll be getting the PS5 with no disc drive. Not right away but sometime next year.

The reviews for Mario 3D All-Stars have dissuaded me from buying it. They all say the improvements are extremely minimal and the set overall feels cheaply done and halfhearted.

But all the games were awesome as they were, and I'm not digging out my N64 or GameCube any time soon.

I don't need improvements to be stoked about playing them on my Switch as they were.

Yeah, my kids want to play those Mario games and I have none of them anymore anyway, this is perfect for us.

That's fair. I guess i'm thinking back to 1993 (ages ago, I know) when I bought the original Mario All-Stars on SNES and loved re-playing Mario 1-3 with updated graphics, backgrounds, etc. It was so awesome, and felt lovingly made.

It just feels like this is what Virtual Console is for, not something new.

I'm also reacting more strongly to it because I was one of the people that had a Wii U, and got to play games like Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D World in 2013-14. And they're also just repackaging those games too on the Switch. We got Mario Odyssey thankfully. But I want a new Switch Mario Kart dammit.

I've been playing it. This is the best Mario 64 has ever looked. Would I have preferred a full on remake? Of course. But I also love the nostalgia of the game as is... and now its sharper.

I feel the exact same way.

Why do people want a disc version of PS5 if the digital version is $100 cheaper with the exact same performance? So you can trade your games back in for new ones?

I will be getting the disc version of the xbox... i think. I have a large collection of blu rays... that is the main reason.
