I gotta say, though, we have a Jeep Wrangler as a 3rd car mainly for my wife and teens to share, but I drove that bitch to work today. It's awesome in the snow.

Have you guys considered moving?

I miss MA, but having winter for 6-7 months of the year blows.

No. I lived in Florida for about 8 years. I prefer living in the Northeast.

Northerners are no different than Southerners. Both complain equally about the weather.

Northerners: complain from Nov - Mar
Southerners: complain from Apr - Nov

What made you move back? It's far more expensive living in the NE than FL.

High-paying job made me choose to move back to NY. But I like it better up here regardless. It just seems like the "real world" to me up here, whereas it doesn't down there.

Plus, I don't know if I'd ever choose to live somewhere solely b/c it's cheaper (unless I absloutely had to). A wise man once said "you pay for what you get."

I see your points. I would move bc of the job too, I don't blame you.

Cheaper in the sense of property taxes, home price, vehicles, etc. is what I meant. It's too expensive to live up there (I have a good paying job down here), I would need an additional income (a wife) to make it meet.

Plus, the snow your getting is the reason I stay. Fuck all that noise. I remember helping my dad shovel all the time. I don't miss it. I do miss the fall up there.

I like having four seasons. Winter hangs on a bit too long though.

I lived in Tampa for a year and I fucking hated it.

No more Florida for me... ever.

I have to press....why do you guys like four seasons? Do you guys enjoy shoveling, driving in mass amounts of snow?

I'm trying to figure out the complaints about snow, but the willingness to live in it.

As for me, I HATE the humidity down here, but they are trade-offs. (My trade off is the beach, hot springs, being near the water, etc) I'm curious to see your guys trade-offs.

It makes you appreciate each season. Warm weather is much better once you've soldiered through winter. I don't have to shovel or drive. I do like how quiet snow can make the loudest areas.

I don't actively hate any parts of the weather here. I get sick of the ice/wind once this time of year rolls around. And I get sick of the heat once Sep hits.

And summer in Chicago... yeah, that's better than any stretch of time in FL, South Carolina, Arizona or wherever.

I prefer winter. This snow/ice over the last couple weeks has been more than welcome.

Can't stand the summer. I'd rather shovel snow than be constantly sweating and/or sunburned for the ridiculous 4 months of summer we get down here. I'm just not a sun/beach person. I definitely miss living in DC. The summers were humid as hell, but the winters made it worth it. Here in TX, it actually feels like winter for only 2-3 weeks out of each year.

I mean, there are four seasons, you're only focusing on one. Fall and Spring are beautiful, and the summer up here is appreciated because it is special. I also live near the water and beaches, and they are really special in summertime. I don't mind the winter, either. It can become a pain in the ass when there's mass quantities of snow and ice, but that's it. The cycle of four seasons is a pretty special part of nature, IMO.

I agree. But I do miss living further North where the Summers weren't as humid and the Winters weren't as damp.
