Yeah good example. I would think that anyone that has/had SBD's has moved on from getting those out or has lost them, etc. However, I'm sure there is still that person who is not releasing them out in the public for the same hoarding reasons back in the earlier days, even though there really isn't much of a reason to.

Damn track times match.

How could I have thought this was a sbd? Guess it sounded so good I couldn't believe it was a regular taper recording. Oh well sorry to get yalls hopes up.

Thanks for the upload. That's the AUD. It's a good one, though. The times match Bill's info file which includes Dave's banter, so it's an atypical track length and wind pressure throughout.

But if we post 100+ potential SBDs we didn't think we knew about and only 1 turns out to be one, it's worth the effort.

( if I need to stop taking about IEMs I will) I know they are frowned upon.

Absolutely, this is good stuff. I wish more of this went on because someday something will pop up.

Except for 8.19.08, apparently.
8/19/08 is a mislabeled aud. Someone I trust was able to confirm that.

I haven't heard much about it being out there, so who knows. There are definitely a ton of sound checks and recent IEMs out there im sure that we have never heard about. I think at this point not being able to discuss them is kind of dumb but I understand it's the bands policy. In my opinion, as long as there isn't anything personal or incriminating dialogue wise it shouldn't be an issue. I can understand not wanting to people to tape them for that reason and the bands privacy should totally be respected. But for the ones that are already out there or that people have from years ago should be allowed imo. But I don't make the rules.

And I'm not only into the dialogue portion but I actually sometimes prefer the way the IEMs sound. Call me crazy but I like how punchy Carters drums are on them.

There are so many insanely good AUDs out thee that I'm sure a lot of ones claiming to be SBD are not. When I first heard Scott Browns AUD of the 03.29.03 Boone Dave and Tim show I was blown away that it wasn't a SBD matrix of some kind. In some way I prefer that tape to the actual SBD release.

I'm not sure, maybe Rob knows the answer to that. What is known about 6/5/98 though is that all other feeds sound terrible. VH1's audio feed was terrible, wbcn's 3 song broadcast was awful. So it was widely speculated that the mix going out had some sort of interference. It was never confirmed that the band's own copy was bad. Still wish that girl from Nancies was still around, the one who claimed to have been an intern for VH1 at the time and had the whole video, not just the first few songs VH1 aired. No one believed her until she shared a quicktime link of Drive and Crush. Then the link was dead two days later and she posted only a few times after that and then she was gone Keyser Soze style.

I don't know how widely it's circulated, but I've had it for a long time, like over 10 years. It's actually one of my favorites.
