That second set last night is baffling

It was bound to happen with the no repeats thing. I'm sure they also wanted to save some stuff for MSG. Set 2 did contain a bunch of past NYE songs, so wonder if that had anything to do with it.

Did you listen to it?

I liked it. It flowed well together, and I generally like their more recent stuff.

I hadn't at the time of the post. Listened to it since. Not as bad as I expected but I'm just not a big fan of the majority of those songs. Particularly don't like the placement of Petrichor. It's probably just magnified for me because that's not what I'd look for in a S2 from them. But whatever, the fact they didn't do any repeats for this run was great and that Chalk Dust reprise in the encore was hilarious.

what are y'all's favorites of the "newer" songs from the last few years? Mercury is probably my top favorite.

Mercury is probably my favorite of the last 4-5 years. I like Death Don't Hurt Very Long and SANTOS from the Kasvot stuff.

I don't get the hate for BDTNL. It's pretty catchy and a fun song. Really love Home as well.

Blaze On, Play by Play, and About to Run are also on the top of my newer songs list.

BDTNL is cheesy, and it's really the first dad rock style song Phish wrote when they came back in 2009. It's not awful, but no one is excited to hear it live, at least I'm not. It's also been relativley overplayed by Phish standards in this decade.

For me 3.0 songs go like this, in no partictular order:

Fuego
Halfway To The Moon
No Men In No Man's Land
Waiting All Night
More
Say It to Me Santos

Pretty much everything else I can do without honestly. I do really enjoy all the Haunted Thrilling Chilling songs too, but I woudn't say they are well written "songs", but they're all very fun live.
