I'm not huge on Jeffs work on Say Bye. Love him on Bartender though...I think it's his best song.

So stupid question (speaking of Roi): At the end of Dodo, that's someone from Dirty Dozen Brass Band and not a Roi spot, right? Everytime I hear that bit it strikes me as something Roi would have done.

it's not leroi. but he was the first (only?) dmb member to call dave and tell him he really enjoyed the album. Always loved hearing that.

Dreaming Tree too. And the cry freedom from 11-3-10 may be his best solo effort to date.

so true. i have to say....i've been trying hard to get into other bands during the DMB off year...but haven't had any luck. i can't find a band with an overall catalogue that comes close to affecting me the way DMB's does.

Found this interesting, it's taken from an interview done with the creator of Wakarusa Festival....

HM: Even with such a positive reputation, new festivals are popping up all the time and even really popular ones, like Nateva and Rothbury, have folded in recent years. Do you pay attention to trends in the scene so as to ensure longevity?

BM: I certainly pay attention to the other festivals. You do kind of see the kisses of death and one of them is overshooting the mark. Especially with the small festivals. You have to be realistic with what you can pull off. And I always believe you should grow slowly rather than come out of the box with Dave Matthews Band and pay them $1.5 million and be out of business.

A LOT of people blame DMB for ending 10,000 Lakes Festival, but they went on for years, went big once with DMB then died, although from what I heard the only day it sold out was when DMB played so....

I'm still surprised Nateva failed. Lineup looked like it was going to be sweet this summer too.
