The Lumineers

I am surprised there isn't a thread for these guys yet. (if there is I am sorry, I searched) Big fan of their music. Scored tickets this morning to their upcoming show in Chicago. Should be a great show.

Saw them last weekend. Liked the band going in, but had low expectations. I left the show having a great time. They are extremely talent.

I saw them last week. I like the band, but live I wasn't too impressed. The singer was kinda a dick too. He hasn't been famous long enough to get cheesed off by people using their camera-phones......

He does that at every show. I think it's more about being in the moment with the band than being a dick. Hell, even in the latest interview DMB notices there is a lot more attention being focused on the phone and social media than being in the moment with the band.

Well, call it what you want, he's telling the crowd what to do and it didn't come off well. I say this as somebody who agrees that people should get off their phones at a show, I just think the singer needs to not let it bother him.

I saw these guys last night in Cincy. They put on a great show even with the dickish "let's put the cell phones down and just enjoy the show" statement (which, didn't surprise me when I turned around and saw almost every cell phone in the venue being held up right when he said it since they were about to play Ho Hey).

It was my 10-year-old's first show and we were able to get up against the rail at the stage. They were entertaining and animated the entire show. At the end, when they were tossing setlists out into the crowd, the lead singer saw my daughter and went over to the drums to pull the setlist off of there, walked it over and handed it directly to her. Kind of awesome that she's still talking about it today as I just got home from being at the office all day. Also so happy that she chose these guys and The Killers for her first concerts this summer over, say, One Direction or a dose of Bieber fever.

The Lumineers are essentially the One Direction of folk.

She'd almost be better off listening to One Direction since they're at least honest.

Several classic rock bands fall in this category, no?
