Sounds good to me! We should have done this a long time ago.

That’s why on my first day as president, I will sign an executive order that says no more drilling — a total moratorium on all new fossil fuel leases, including for drilling offshore and on public lands.
Love this:

Quote:
Money alone won’t solve the problem — it will take hard work. In the 1930s, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt proposed the Civilian Conservation Corps, a public work relief program that put those unemployed during the Great Depression to work maintaining federal lands. We must embrace a modern version of this model, and I was proud to support a recent update to the program to allow for public-private partnerships with existing conservation and service organizations. But given the magnitude of the challenge, now we need to turbocharge it. I will recruit 10,000 young people and veterans to jumpstart a 21st Century Civilian Conservation Corps — and increase the budget of AmeriCorps’ one-year fellowship program to fund it. This will create job opportunities for thousands of young Americans caring for our natural resources and public lands, deepening their lifelong relationship with the great outdoors

Has anyone heard of the shoe brand [Only registered users can see links.] ? I just got my pair and they are awesome. You don't need to wear socks with them and they are very comfy.

They use 60% less energy to make than a regular shoe, made from trees, laces are from recycled plastic, the foam at the bottom of the shoe is from sugarcane, and the box it came in is 90% recycled as well!

Just trying to do my part in every aspect of life I can....

They'll be great for summer time concert going....

Another great speech from Greta.

Quote:
When I tell politicians to act now, the most common answer is that they can't do anything too drastic because that would be too unpopular among the voters. And they are right of course, since most people are not even aware of why those changes are required. That is why I keep telling you to unite behind the science, make the best available science the heart of politics and democracy.

Why the rapid shortening of the projected timeline? Plunging battery costs. For a midsize US car in 2015, the battery made up more than 57% of the total cost. This year, itís 33%. By 2025, the battery will be only 20% of total vehicle cost, according to BNEF.

Love this. A creative way to tell a story.....The first part of the story comes right out of the Exxon internal docs I posted that started this thread.

Earth Day is coming up! Another way to help - no more plastic phone cases for me! I just bought one from this company: [Only registered users can see links.]
