For the most part it doesnít, but like you said there are still some major shows they know we want and they are purposely holding out on those. Aside from those, it really doesnít matter, especially for 3.0 releases because thereís tons of them.

It was the one from 6/8/96, which is very similar to, but not as good as, the already-released 6/4/96.

So they are holding out for the minimal number of people who are really after a show like 12.3.98. It happened 20 years ago at this point...can't imagine more people are looking for it as time goes on.

Itís just a theory and helps explain why those shows havenít been released at this point. Look at how they released and marketed 12.21.02 as a holiday release along with a pro shot DVD, above and beyond the normal live trax. To me, that proves they know what shows are ďspecialĒ to the fans. And to honest, the live trax series especially at this point is totally marketed and geared toward hardcore fans because I highly doubt thereís a lot of ďcasualĒ fans buying these.

The SPAC '96 show? Yeah, most of those 96 shows run together for me.

Finished my listen through and it's forgettable.

Nice to have this Joyride and a full show release with Mercy (I like the tune).

I donít think 12.21.02 is as special as you think it is, but that is another discussion.

Itís pretty special man, obviously a bit overrated because of the James Brown guest spot and we know that show is all about that but I remember watching the setlist unfold online that night and people were going crazy, it was considered one of the best shows at the time and part of a great Ď02 winter tour. Iím not saying itís on the level of some other big time shows, but to say Itís not that special is pretty absurd.

I said as special as you think it is. I didn’t say it wasn’t a good show. It is a favorite of mine and I was there. The James Brown moment was obviously a great DMb moment though.

I don’t know that I could identify 1 all time show, but 12.3.98 is a good one. 12.7.98, 6.8.97, 6.10.97, 8.7.98, 7.26.98, a couple Sept 00 shows, 8.20.95, 7.26.95, 8.11.02, 5.11.99, 3.7.99, a handful of 97 D+T shows, etc. I could name more is my point.

Listening to this #41 is really an eye-opener to how much better the band sounds this year. Boyd is just lowering the performance wherever he can.

Yeah as much as I love the violin sound and realize how crucial it was to the DMB sound, it’s clear that through most of 3.0 Boyd has certainly detracted, brought down and held back the band musically in many regards. I’m not a huge fan of Buddy but at least he’s contributing to the sound not just standing there nodding and occasionally playing horribly out of tune and out of time.

It really is terrible. One of the best songs in their catalog, but the versions with this breakdown are atrocious.

I'm just thankful that didn't stick.

I just got done listening to this. I enjoyed it, i thought it reflected the 2013 tour well, a tour that i loved. Fonz's intro to Crush was cool, Good Times Bad Times sounded good. Dave's lyrical mess up in Drunken Soldier was great.

I actually enjoy the part in JTR when Dave does the announcing voice. But i think with this mix, Rashawn is way too loud and it makes that announcer part sound bad. I think they released this version of JTR as a Summer Warm Up video, it sounds better in that one.

The ending run of Typical > Two Step is a fun listen. Not to mention the last 10 minutes of this Two Step is

That JTR has been released on YouTube for a few years. I love that carnival breakdown.

Was this the one from one of the summer tour warm up seriesí? I had that on a running mix years ago and remember loving it.

Yeah, I agree that the problem here is mixing the horns and violin up too loud and Dave's voice too quietly. I think that breakdown sounds awesome on the Warm Up mix.
