Back to back come from behind Mets wins over the Yankees. Love it.

Last night was actually the first time ever Mariano has blown a save without even recording an out. Crazy. Awesome way to end his final appearance at Citi Field.

On a bittersweet note, last night was also the first time my son (15) went to a game without me. He went with just his friends.

This Mets-Yanks series has at least been a real bright spot in a bad season

Just picked up tix for Yanks/Sox tomorrow night. Somehow the first time I've ever seen them play in person. I've been to about 35-40 Yankees games probably. Also seeing them play in Boston in my first Fenway trip later this summer. Should be a good time.

Crazy:

Kerry Wood found a dead body while paddleboarding

Quote:
Former Cubs pitcher Kerry Wood discovered a dead body while paddleboarding in Chicago’s Belmont Harbor on Monday, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The Tribune got access to a police report that details how Wood came across the dead body of a man while on the water at 11 a.m. He immediately dialed 911.

From the Tribune:

Officers notified Area North detectives and took photos of the body, according to the report. On the victim’s left wrist was an identification tag indicating the man had been reporting missing by a North Side nursing home after being released by a local hospital on June 19, the report said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as a 40-year-old man from the 5400 block of North Broadway. An autopsy conducted today was inconclusive pending further studies, according to the office.

Wood had no comment on the matter. He is currently a spring instructor with the Cubs organization.

(Thanks to CBS Sports for sharing.)

11 AM too. Typically, I'd think bodies would be discovered by the early morning fishers around 5 AM.
