The more I think this through, the more it only makes sense that this was Boyd's surprise decision, at the very least, in the timing of the announcement.

No, because even those rumors were more creepy than assault/rape.

The idea that this was planned is ridiculous imo. If it was just the super bowl show I could understand. But today was ticket on sale for the tour. They would have made a post if they had known. They aren't totally lacking tact.

I just fucking hope this show gets taped or that the cbs or nfl doesn't restrict it. The last st paul was great but no tape.

Isn't that in stark contrast to what you were saying earlier?
Personally, I don't believe the band/management didn't know about this before. I think they just allowed Boyd the respect to reveal it himself. He hadn't tweeted since January 12, so I feel like he just stalled and couldn't work up the courage to reveal this until the last minute.

Seriously, if this is planned, youre absolutely right that hes been out for a while and they waited until tonight just so itd be after the public on-sale but before the show tomorrow when hes not there.

Not unless he was pulling a Bill Cosby. And even then, he wouldn't have been doing it on stage. Cognitive dissonance ftw!

Actually the past two st paul shows were not taped. Rivers edge didn't allow the equipment.

Yeah, I actually forgot that. Were all treating it as a given that hes never coming back.

Ok but it's tough to come back from these kinds of things. And that's if this band even continues past this tour.

I didn't take a position. I said either its last minute all Boyd or its absolute fraud by Coran.

Oh, my impulse is that hes done, but that is definitely not what he said.

I wouldn't go as far as say he'll never play on stage with DMB again but this is almost definitely the end for him in terms of being a regular member of the band imo.

Billboard and rolling stone both have articles up on this which say "dmb hasn't commented yet".

They had to have contacted RCA or dmb pr before running the story right?
