The two nighters will be like this. The single nights will be like last night. Pretty straightforward.

Why is that okay and "pretty straightforward" though? Why should people accept that level of mediocrity from a man that's written so many good songs that he refuses to play regularly?

Also, sets like this should be happening from DAY ONE of the tour. He's been playing music for like 30 years. "Warm up" periods aren't for people of his talent. He should be rehearsing a couple weeks before the show, ready to deliver shit like this from day motherfucking one.

It's almost more frustrating to see them actually show an ounce of freshness tonight because it proves that they intentionally withhold it every other night.

And I'm not being negative just to be negative, I'm being truthful and expecting more from one of the most famous and (when he tries) talented musicians in the country.

Oh and not trying to bring anyone down. Just don't like when Dave shits on the fans night in and night out, finally delivers when people bitch enough, and then everyone acts like all is well when you know damn well the same cycle is going to happen with the next tour.

Start delivering regularly or retire if you're tired of your own act, Dave.

It's not OK really and I don't disagree with any of the points you made, just that we don't need to wonder if this is a ticket sale move or if this tour will be worthwhile.

Y+M seems like a throwaway after watchtower. Bet the crowd was way up after that run.

Quick story. Some here know me, most don't but I wanted to share this. the other day while meeting with a friend I was able to spend some time with Matthews. We talked about the tour a little and then switched to guitar parts. I was telling him that I'm working on spoon and pig and their progressions. The convo led to me saying something to the effect of hey U guys should try those. To which I got a big Whoa reaction. I told him my 6 year old loves those songs and made a sign that I'd be bringing to N1 to which he said he suddenly felt pressure now that a youngster was involved. I was unsure anything would come of it.
Goes without saying I left tonight pretty happy!

Man, that was fun. What a shock this whole weekend was. Such a better experience than I expected and such better sets too.

The best shows are when you never know what the hell is gonna happen next. Tonight was certainly that. Pig and Spoon obviously were huge shockers (both were amazing performances too and should be staples). But I also didn't expect Whiter Shade (D&T too, not solo), Watchtower, Stay, WIA, Two Step repeat (performed very very differently than last night and had a great "I Want You" Tim solo), the extra Oh, or Everyday. Obviously I would've preferred Halloween or something over ED but it was fun. Also was happily surprised there was only one piano song.

Also went into this really wanting Minarets, FTT, Granny, Say Bye and Warehouse.

Thank you. Were you the one in the pit N1 with the two-sided sign that had Pig and Spoon? I tried to find you to shake your hand tonight and thank you personally but missed you.
