I know we would never get this answered, but it would be real interesting to hear an honest comment or thought from the perspective on Boyd from members of the band.

I still wouldn't expect much more than a token answer from any of them, but it would be fun to be a fly in the wall when Dave and Carter are alone and saying something along the lines of "maybe getting him some ice cream on stage will liven his ass up?"

You're more likely to get an honest assessment from someone associated with the band -- a member of the crew or management.

I'm not talking an official interview -- just more likely to hear it in a conversation (especially after the band hangs it up).

Threads like this does really get me thinking about how much longer they will actually tour like this.

well 6 out of 7 members seem to be having a blast. one guy who they've been essentially ignoring for years isn't going to cause the whole band to pack it in. i think especially after they moved on relatively easy after Roi they'd be more open to losing another non-Dave/Carter member.

I agree completely and am not expecting them to be done real soon, but it just makes you wonder every once and awhile.

It's inevitable they'll have to change their regular touring model eventually. They're a band that is aging and this can't continue forever. I think we got a glimpse of that last year.

Totally, I think they will strip down dates eventually. It just really makes you wonder what is going through Boyd's head if he truly isn't into touring. Does he feel an obligation to be? Does he feel because 6 of 7 members are loving it that he needs to just be there? It's an interesting topic.

Yet another example of Boyd clearly being turned all the way down in the live mix:

And people still like to blame Tim

Id like to let the tour be more than two shows old before I judge Boyd's status thus far this year.

I really have no idea if he is or isn't, so if I've made it seem like I truly believe he isn't into it I apologize. I haven't been to a show or heard a full tape yet but I find the discussion interesting because it's been a consistent one for awhile now.
