Its not even that complicated, either. I haven't checked out groceries with a person in years, just using self checkout which reduces staff by like 1/6 or 1/8th.

And several stores near me have price guns at the entrance, you just scan the item as it goes into your cart and you don't have to run it all through when you leave, you just tally it up at the checkout, swipe a credit card and leave.

But, I guess Comrade Trump will put a 35% tax on self-checkout to bring back those cashier jobs?

The FBI knew about Boston and Orlando before they happened. Why didn't they do anything?

No I don't think they were a conspiracy. Incompetence or PC got in the way, though

A 17 year old girl was raped and murdered in Germany by a refugee. The German government is warning people not to say anything "islamaphobic" on Facebook. The police will show up at your house if you do! Fake news is a BS talking point of the left to convince Google/Facebook to further censor.

The irony is that the girl was the daughter of an EU official...you know, the same group that told sovereign nations that they must accept millions of refugees and give them welfare.

Yes, sovereign nations, if they give a shit about more than their own geopolitical ends, will accept as many refugees as they can. The alternatives are monstrous.

Donald J. Trump ‏@realDonaldTrump 16h16 hours ago

If the press would cover me accurately & honorably, I would have far less reason to "tweet." Sadly, I don't know if that will ever happen!

Has there ever been this many during one electoral cycle?

Just another article about this subject. It's a shame, these topics really should have been the focus of any campaign, left or right, for our nation's sake. AI won't take millions of jobs over night, but if we are not proactive we will be SOL.........

Despite the convincing nature of Trump's anti-offshoring argument, Amazon Go proves the biggest danger isn't jobs going overseas, but rather the march of technological progress.
Quote:
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 856,850 Americans were employed as grocery store cashiers in May 2015, the most recent data available. Theoretically, Amazon Go's model grocery store puts a chunk of these jobs at risk. Include all cashiers (there doesn't seem to be a reason the Amazon Go model couldn't work for say, clothes or books) and that's roughly 3.5 million people in roles that are at risk of being automated away.

The change, however, highlights the ever-shifting landscape of the American workforce.
