Was saddened to wake up to this. He had an amazing voice.

And like whoever said it above, it hits home when it's someone who you grew up listening to as opposed to just someone famous that you were familiar with but really weren't a fan of. Makes me feel old.

It depends. Robin Williams hung himself, but it turned out he was suffering from a rapidly progressing form of dementia. While I don't think Cornell was suffering from that, he was obviously in a lot of pain. We should hesitate before proclaiming he threw his life away. Quality of life matters more than simply living.

Unfortunately, I'm not remotely surprised. It brings a whole new level of grief to an already terrible situation. I feel terrible for his family and loved ones left behind to pick up the pieces and wonder why he decided to take his own life.

I almost feel like something must have happened yesterday. Via twitter, Instagram, and recent interviews he seemed to be doing pretty good. Excited about the tour and new music.

Eh, you never know...for people that have been that depressed for seemingly as long as he has, they become an expert at hiding the pain.

I have a bad feeling his wife knew something (be it a text or a phone conversation post-show that night while he was in his hotel room) which prompted her to place the call to the friend to perform the welfare check.

I read that his wife talked to him after the show and he said he may have taken too much Ativan and was slurring his words.

Here's a little more detail on that. They want a tox screen to see what was in his system. Sounds like he wasn't showing any warning signs at all.

Ugh, so sad that it was seemingly accidental.

That's cuz Warren Haynes is a fucking BOSS!

Gov't Mule is easily one of the best bands out there.

Isbell's new single he released "If We Were Vampires" is so damn good. This guy knows how to write a song. His lyrics are amazing and this album seems like it's going to show off a ton of his skills even more. Can't wait to hear the whole thing.

Dude is legit awesome. I've heard great things about this tune, but am holding off on listening to anything until release day.

With us being on a DMB board, this is the kind of quiet acoustic song we used to get from Dave back in the 90's.
