Enjoyed The Wackness. Ben Kingsley is a fine fine actor.

Other recent films I've enjoyed him in: You Kill Me and Transsiberian.

I love love love this film! It is funny, exciting, suspenseful, thrilling & sad. The buildup to Kong is great and amazingly Jack Black actually gives a good performance. Naomi Watts is gorgeous in this.

A great epic for sure. In my top 3 favourite films.

In fact, I think it's time for an avatar change.

just finished watching The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button again. i cried in parts the first time i watched it and teared up a little bit this time but at different parts. this was one of my three personal favorites from the films last year along with Wall-E and TDK. and i say fuck the haters, this movie really made me think about getting old and spending my life with someone in a way i never have before.

what were other people's favorites from last year?

Anyone seen The Passenger with Jack Nicholson? He calls it his favourite film. He even does an audio commentary for the film.

So my top 5 actresses:

Eva Mendes
Kristen Stewart
Jessica Biel
Emma Watson
Kate Bosworth

Honorable mentions:

Mandy Moore (if you can really count her as an actress?)
Keira Knightley (when she's not grotesquely skinny)

Acting skills had very little requirement in my list.

Side note, I'm really looking forward to Taking Woodstock

wtf is up with the Academy expanding the best picture category to 10 nominees?

also, just saw some trailers that i'm very intrigued by:

Shutter Island
Sherlock Holmes
9
District 9

not so excited about Nine, i just can't get into Chicago type musicals.

Shutter Island especially looks good. Something different from Scorsese anyway.

That's pretty much my bag entirely. I like subtle intensity.

One of my favorite movies ever. So well layered and written out like a classic novel. It's almost insulting they had to label it was a comedy to get it to sell in America, because as funny as it was, it was hardly a comedy.
