The Dead sounded pretty freaking good tonight. Taperbob had the first set streaming online to fans by the time the second set was barely underway. We are still waiting for the second set to play though i am thinking we may have to wait until tomorrow. gdradio.net will be a place to keep an eye on for upcoming shows.

I have to admit I was on the verge of scrambling to sell my tickets for my upcoming shows after seeing them on The View but after tonight I am genuinely excited for Denver and Shoreline!

Hell of a great way, on Easter, to open up a spring tour!

The Dead - Greensboro, NC 4/12/2009

Set 1 (7:45 PM - 9:00 PM): Jam ->The Music Never Stopped -> Jack Straw, Estimated Prophet -> He’s Gone, Touch of Grey, I Need a Miracle -> Truckin’

Set 2 (9:45 PM - 11:30 PM): Jam -> Shakedown Street -> All Along the Watchtower -> Caution -> Drums -> Space -> Cosmic Charlie, New Potato Caboose -> Help on the Way -> Slipknot -> Franklin’s Tower

Encore: Samson and Delilah

That was a great show, and my first time to see The Dead in concert. Great experience. Cool fans. Highlights were Truckin', All Along The Watchtower. I love it that they did a cover of Samson and Deliah on Easter.

Anybody know where they have dead shows? etree maybe?

Did you SEE the view?

it was terrible and btw that was exageration for making a point.

Hell man, I wasn't going to be home In So Cal for the shows in So Cal because I am going to be in Vegas for DMB, so what did I do? booked plane ticket to go to Denver on Thursday so that the next morning I can fly from Denver to Vegas so I didn't miss seeing them. Then I picked up Shoreline Pavilions for the next thursday.

I saw them 34 times from 1985-1995.

cute avatar though.

Bold 1: Yes I did. I thought it was decent at best.
Bold 2: I know that was exaggeration. What deadhead would dump tickets to see the Dead?
Bold 3: Impressive!
Bold 4: Thank you! It originates from the Solja alternate universe Big Whiskey thread.

i've listened to a few. just can't get into it.

the jams go nowhere. the playing is sloppy. just download a few GD shows from the early - mid 70s instead

I'm about to give this another listen. Great sounding mix, solid show throughout of course. Two solid releases in my opinion, this show and the latest Road Trips with the Feb '68 Carousel Ballroom show.

I love Phil's voice, especially on Franklin's Tower, for example.

Franklin's Tower is one of my favorite tunes. Not a huge dead head here, but I like some GD. Especially Eyes of the World with Branford Marsalis (sp?)
