Do you want to see Tim leave? Butch come back? Discuss the lineup here.

I used to care but I really don't anymore. I just want good songs.

Im more interested to see what Dave has to do on his own than anything else.

Yeah I'm excited to hopefully see Dave do some things with some other people. I highly doubt he's going to sit on his ass all next year. The man's never been able to sit still.

If he could actually get his shit together and play like he used to then I'd love to see some of the newer people step aside. But I think we've all pretty much given up hope of that ever happening again (except in small flashes here and there)

I like the current lineup. The original 5 (after Peter left) will always be my favorite DMB, but that's obviously not an option now. I'm not interested in Butch coming back; I prefer Tim much more.
Ultimately, though, if you give me Dave, Carter, a great sax player, and whomever else, I'm content.

This talk of not wanting Tim is so stupid and shows how we are as a fanbase. He's the man and we all know it, but as always the way things are now are the worst they can be. If Tim quit, a year from now we would be dying to have him back.

Very much agreed, but I love what David Ryan Harris brings to the table.

Just to reiterate I have no problem with Butch but given a choice between either him or Tim I'd pick Tim every time.

Rashawn I could take or leave.

I would definitely be interested in seeing what a new core 5 could do though, whether it's with Jeff or another sax player.

for years people complained about butch messing up songs. everyone longed for tim reynolds. the place was hysterical with tim reynolds fever in '08 when it was announced he was touring and recording with the band.

if people in the fanbase are actually now voicing that they wish he would leave, it's truly ridiculous. the grass is always greener on the other side for some die-hards i guess

I am fine with Tim, never minded Butch but I am fine without him. Ross...well, he can go.

Yeah when I really think about it what interests me the most would be seeing the current lineup, minus Rashawn. That'd be the closest to the old while sticking with the new IMO.

nobody in this band NEEDS to go. nobody is ruining the chemistry or making songs outright unlistenable. if you have a real problem with what tim brings to the table you might as well stop listening to this band, cause the old days are long gone and they won't be back. i think after the shit this band has released in the previous decade, the loss of Roi, and simply having to tour 20 straight years, it's incredible they're as good as they are now. stop bitching and get pumped for the fall tour lol.

I mean, regardless of what people's opinions are of the current DMB sound (which, of course, is what it sounds like when God makes love), is Ross really a key compenent of what they do now? I suppose someone will say something about Boyd, but the guy is a founding member and whether he sounds great or not a lot of classic tunes wouldn't be the same without him.

while i like ross, if him leaving just gave jeff more solo spotlight then that's a trade off that is worth it.

I can deal with Tim gone if he continues playing electric. BRING OUT THE ACOUSTIC!

yah the "section" sound only really makes a couple songs, mostly its a negligible "addition". not to mention DMB is sporting a sax player that can play alto and tenor at once... just sayin.
