TGIY better open Friday night. I’ll be there Saturday and can’t imagine needing a piss break at 8:15.

You'd best be tailgating hard.....cause when the lights go down and you see the horn section playing the goddamn tambourine and maracas, you know that bathroom will be free and clear.

I should be loading up the car right now for the Alpine tailgate.

Passed on the hometown shows. Sets haven't done much for me, but it's always weird missing a Chicago show.

Despite the views, I really hate this venue.

I hope it's a good weekend for those of you going! Get some portillos for me.

Whoa is this tour really almost halfway over? Looks like by ~next weekend it will be.

That makes the very minimal amount of bust outs REALLY scary. Have these guys fully entered the cruise control stage of their careers?

Summer 2012, Album Year: ~77 songs by midpoint of tour
Summer 2018, Album Year: ~69 songs (not quite midpoint)

I expect some debuts at Creek for sure.

So for an album year, not too far off.

Other total songs played during album tour years (full tour sum):
2012: 99 (album early/mid September)
2009: 78 (album early June)
2005: 61 (album early May)
2002: 56 (album mid June)

Not that far off for an album year, honestly.

This has been a weird album tour, the overall play-counts of the album as far as songs per show goes I feel has been quite small, usually its only been like 5-7 as opposed to 8-10 for some previous album tours. This has kinda created a previewed need for or a notion that rare stuff would fill the void of that, but no that hasn't happened. Its essentially been 5 or 6 CT songs plus 7 or 8 staples (Billies, DDTW, Warehouse, etc.), and then a few others that haven't really been played a lot the last few years that bounce in and out ever now and then.

The downfall of this tour is that Bayou and Stand Up are back in heavy rotation, replace those 2 with something more loved and the tour improves a lot. We're also missing out on classics that have never really been that rare all of the sudden not being played at all (Seek Up, Bartender, Two Step)

Yeah I honestly think we're like three great songs in heavy rotation away from people being basically happy with this tour.

We aren't even talking like Dreaming Tree, Last Stop, etc. here, if they just brought out Stone, Two Step, and Seek Up everything would be a-okay.

This is essentially true. Maybe ease up on the Satellite and Jimi Thing pedal this year. Keep Smooth Rider away.

I've even been enjoying Stand Up and Bayou this year!

Yeah at my show and watching the webcast I dug the shit out of those songs (guess bayou wasn't played during the webcast but the point still stands).

Others seem to be less happy about those songs, I was essentially surmising the feel of the the general populace

Way too many shitty songs in rotation, and you combine that with 6-7 of the most overplayed staples and a bunch of bad CT songs—like opening every other show with TGIY, really puts a damper on the tour. They’re going to have to do a lot in the next two months for me to even consider this tour as not one of the worst (in terms of songs being played and setlist flow).

I just don't at all see how this tour is down there with 05 - 07 and 14 - 16. I guess if you wanna focus on the bad stuff you can make it seem that way, but I think this is a bit hyperbolic. One of the most disappointing? yes, but worst? I'm doubtful. I don't know if they've played more than 2 or 3 setlists that are truly awful.
