I thought the band was sloppy last night. One sweet world had a timing issue and a few other times they missed a beat or so.

Glad to see Captain. How does he continually TANK sets? It almost seems spiteful at this juncture.

Last night’s set, on the whole, wasn’t for me, but I want to give the band credit for treating Great Woods / Meadows as a 2 night stand and only repeating Samurai.

Also 3 TD’s. They’ve debuted at least one song at every show still, iirc.

Every show except Bristow I think...

True but if you look at a lot of those tds (rooftop, rhyme, Dido, etc) - they've hardly been repeated or even played more than once. That's the frustrating issue

Ended up selling my tickets last minute. Glad I did; the set looks pretty dull aside from Captain.

Really surprised between Mansfield and Hartford they didn't get Hello Again or You Never Know. Those are the two I'm hoping to see most this year.

Glad someone else noticed this, OSW sounded really off and there were a handful of other times the band sounded a little out of sync.

Overall, solid show - beginning was good, middle was really good, ending was rough. Hard to complain about a show where Captain just falls into your lap out of nowhere. Happy they didn't go all-in on Come Tomorrow; I was expecting a few more and it was good to hear B&BB, although it too sounded off/rusty.

Biggest takeaway for me, and this has been covered by many people who've attended shows this year so not original, was how Tim-ified the band has become in the wake of Boyd. Given Tim's already overt presence over the last few years, I thought this was impossible to top but it's completely on another level now. Hearing him shred the Boyd solo during the beginning of Jane was my, "wow, this isn't DMB anymore" moment. But even with the hiccups I mentioned earlier and the lack of violin, it was still an enjoyable show and I'm looking forward to the other I have planned this year.

Also, I'm not really into what Buddy is bringing so far, although I liked what he was doing on Stand Up -- and yes, I cannot believe the sentence I just wrote either.

Mansfield was MUCH better than Hartford, crowd-wise and performance-wise.

Were you at both shows?

Just watched Black and Bluebird & Captain. Unfortunately Captain didn't have the last bridge reprise. In 2013 the first couple versions didn't have it but then it returned, so hopefully they play it again. Otherwise it sounded alright!

Black and Bluebird sounded Rusty and Dave messed up the words at the end.

Hartford's process of getting people into the pit is atrocious and many people (including a taper) made complaints. It was so dysfunctional and they were corralling people in more heavily on one side even though if you just walked down a bit further you could have had MUCH more room. It was just a shitty experience. Second half of the set I moved over "sock side" as my friend put it and had a much more enjoying experience not being squished, however that also meant that I had to endure a Stand UP/Bayou double-dick punch which really fucking hurt, especially since Buddy started singing and did a bit of scatting on Stand up and seeing Dave's reaction...I have a feeling that's gonna stick around all fucking year.

Captain, Can't Stop, B&BB, Jane, Funny and Space...everything else could can go fuck itself.

Yes I was. And while the band (and Dave) made some missteps, some more noticeable than others, I did enjoy what I heard, even that BBB.

I actually literally said this about captain as soon as it ended. It was definitely the high point of the night but bummed it didn’t repeat the bridge.

It really was. Not even 7 minutes after the show ended, I turned around and almost the ENTIRE venue for Hartford had cleared. Hearing so many people chattering to each other after the show walking back to my car and I heard MAYBE 3 or 4 positive comments. Mansfield was very different. They had to get security to move blocks of people in sections after the show. The crowd, as a collective, seemed to have had a much better time for Mansfield. Of course you're always going to get those few blotches that aren't into the show, like my buddy who sat in Sec. 5 like 5 rows up said his area sucked. But on the whole, I think the crowd was more reactive to songs and Dave in general in Mansfield.

I love this Black and Blue Bird. Shame it's still longer than the studio cut. Buddy needs to play piano more often.

This should be a warning to everybody. When there is a large GA or pit, don’t fucking do it. They purposefully oversell it. Learned the hard way at Citi Field 2010. The GA there was just awful not enough space to even get into the section so had to stand way off to the side and watch the show from a screen.
