Jimi sucks live. 15+ minutes of noise and gimmicks.

I don't actually think it's ever been as good as it was in '95 and '96 again. The UTTAD Roi jam was awesome.

Preach, those mid 90's Jimi's are so underrated. The one from Live Trax 5 is fire.

Those are my favorites for sure. Still loved it up until around 2004 though, now I very rarely listen to any version.

Jimi's best years, imho, were '95, '99, '00, and '04.

'93, '94, '96, '97, '02, '03, '05 were definitely not bad years for the song. I just know for me personally, 1995, 1999, 2000, and 2004 had, on a more consistent basis, better performances than those other years.

Jimi is also one of those songs that it all depends on what type of performance you're in the mood for. Central Park is really good, but sometimes I want to listen to 3/10/93. I love 12/31/95 (probably one of the best performances), but other times I want to listen to a slower pace, more airy performance like 9/2/00.

The Jimi scat was the worst. It peaked @ CP. Thank god it's been gone for a few years.

Agreed. I loved the 9/9/03 scat. Just like the CP one, Dave seemed so pissed and really into it.

I remember wanting to hear Jimi at every show in ‘98 / 99 and now I get legit angry when it starts. Still a great song, just hate what the band has done to it for the last 14 years (really even longer because I was never a scat guy - ask my wife!). And itus weird, because I have to work to remind myself that I still like the song / want to hear old versions.

The Jimi with Trey is fantastic. Trey + Leroi that performance stands out.

[Only registered users can see links.]

It's mislabeled on YouTube. It was from Randalls Island and is 7/30/05

This 17 minute Typical Situation is definitely a tour highlight. What a jam.

Too bad they haven't played it since.

It was awesome. It seemed like it was going to close too.
