The Florida Project was outstanding. I donít know what it knocks out of my top ten, but slides into my top 5.

It reminded me a lot of American Honey, which also went way overlooked last year. I liked TFP better than most of BP noms I've seen, save for maybe Get Out and Three Billboards, but even amongst those three it's a tight race.

Also I'd recommend Sean Baker's first film Tangerine too.

There’s a new trailer for The Incredibles 2, which I’m looking forward to. I can’t figure out how to direct link to it from a tweet, but you can watch it here.

This could go in the TV thread, but since it's a sequel to a movie and this thread gets way more traffic I thought I'd put it here. Anyways, it will probably end up being shitty, but does anyone else feel a tinge of excitement for this?

That's what everyone says when marketing materials drop for these nostalgia revival series. Then no one really does when the reality of it sets in.

Roman J. Israel, Esq: A great character and performance in search of a story.

Black Panther was dull. Overstuffed with characters (of which the lead was the least interesting), understuffed with story. Killmonger, the sister character, and Andy Serkis were the only interesting ones.

Let me rephrase:

I'll be checking out the hell out of that.

Oh, most definitely. One and a half episodes for sure.

Wasn’t able to check out Black Panther this weekend. But I’m shocked at the lack of availability.

Seeing it in a half hour. I'll report back. I expect to be perfectly whelmed.

Ralph Macchio and I are doppelgangers. True story. I'm really interested in checking this one out. I love the Karate Kid movies.

I was blown away by Black Panther. I haven't really been impressed with a film in the MCU since Guardians Vol. 1.

I realize I'm in the minority on this one. I just don't get it. Chadwick Boseman was so stiff. There was not a single surprising element - I knew where each scene was headed as soon as it started. To me it was just more Marvel-fatigue fare. There were also about twice a many characters as there needed to be for that story.
