It was great hanging out with you tonight man. I really enjoyed it. You are good people. Let’s do it again.

So I got to reflect alittle after last nights show.

First of all, it’s so great seeing this band having fun and still bringing it every night. They are having a blast on stage and Buddy has brought some youthfulness back to the band and the chemistry on stage is something that has been missing for years. I caught 3 shows this year and though they don’t break my Top 5, they all were fun and have been thoroughly enjoyed.

Last night seems like a mess on paper but attending it I thought it flowed nicely and kept you guessing. Never saw OSW in the opening spot, and after 38 shows and 16 years all i can ask for is some randomness from what I’ve seen, and last night wasn’t predictable till DDTW through the encore.

The opening run was ok except for Seven. It needs to be retired. PNP—>LIOG gave me chills and is that randomness factor that keeps it fresh.
And honestly the rest of the show wasn’t horrible but almost like a festival set. I was ok with it but kept hoping for a Minarets, YNK, Break Free, Typical or Kill the King but it never happened. I’m glad I avoid Jimi Thing 1/3 this year. Just thought it was strange that they cane out from 8:09-10:23 and the show was over by 10:45. Felt they could have jammed more and was hoping for a late show (Typical or Nancies—>Warehouse) but I cant complain. It’s been 28 years and I still get to catch them live as much as I did when I was 15/16 and that’s something I can’t say for a lot of things.

On a side note. Only time I missed Boyd tonight was LIOG. It was just missing something.

Has Stefan been playing Blackbird in his Watchtower solo the whole tour? Pretty cool to hear.

He played it as his intro to Crush at MSG.

Ah, got ya. Haven't been to a show in a while so I wasn't sure if this was something he has done in the past. The Watchtower video that's on youtube from last night's show is very telling of how much this band is loving playing. Great to see really.

Went last minute as I got a cheap lower and my friend paid for gas and parking so it was a cheap night
Had a good time and enjoyed but other than getting a pop from donít drink and grey st the crowd seemed totally dead. I kept looking around the arena and the reaction was eye opening. Ppl seemed to be checked out. Maybe just my perspective or maybe just cause it wasnít a MSG or SPAC crowd

To me, the worst part of that cover was Boyd "playing" the mandolin.

I still can't believe they're not dusting off Linus & Lucy > Heartbeat Intro or even Sleep to Dream Her > Christmastime is Here > Grace is Gone

Well if they did, the good news is you won't have to hear the electric mandolin played at the competency of a 5 year old.

Itís funny all these years weíve been begging them to come out ontime so we could get an extra 1-3 songs, and Dave finally was like, ďhey guys, I have a great idea! Weíll come out 15-20 minutes earlier so... I can get to bed 15-20 minutes earlier!Ē

One step at a time. Make 8:10 the new normal and then sets stretch out.

Also, i feel like there was a run in like 2009-2012 where we were having the longest dmb concerts ever?

i think they play songs like Sledgehammer for the ultra-casuals in the crowd: those who know Crash, Satellite,Ants and not much else. its a good way to get the entire crowd into the show with a high energy song that absolutely everyone knows

Oh I get why they do it....I'm just not a fan and I feel the DMB cover versions of Sledgehammer, Burning Down the House and Sweet Emotion just don't come close to the originals so I'd rather they not bother.

Sad to see that’s happening. Didn’t happen at either MSG show. They came out on time and played past 11.

Yeah, it's weird to see them wrap things up completely by 10:40. A real throwback to 2002.

i think the Sledgehammer cover is really solid. BDTH, Sweet Emotion, and Time of the Season though, i agree: i would rather they play a dmb song in that spot.

Wish they'd try a few new ones, if they're going to play covers....or even add some older ones to the rotation (For the Beauty of Wynona, I'm looking at you.)

Mostly agree with this, especially the spirit of it. I actually think their Sledgehammer cover is awesome, and probably one of the best covers they've done.

I kind of like Time of the Season too even though it isn't anything unique. And Burning Down the House at least has the addition of the horns.

I've no use for Sweet Emotion/Runnin Down a Dream/Kashmir/some of the others from the last decade or so.

I'd LOVE to see them break out Beauty of Wynona at some point or The Maker more often again.
