Such good goddamn flow. Shit for the nerds, shit for the casual friends. My friend who hopped on my extra ticket when I wound up taping the show had gone to Jones with a expression and was not looking forward to the same shit. Bothered me for a copy of Albany for the whole ride back home when I was editing KTK on my laptop. My other friend who I hit Scranton'10 with made me pump the raw audio through the car because she had such a good time.

I just don't get it.

Jeff posted Dave's handwritten set and looks like they swapped out Jimi for Bayou. I mean, I guess that's better? Kinda? I don't even know anymore. What an odd set swap.

I don't care how sick of Jimi you are. Bayou is NEVER better than Jimi. Hell, Jimi is pretty awesome this year with the Buddy/Tim jam and the more developed Sexy MF.

Wouldn't have really loved getting the Bayou and BBN debuts tonight, but Xmas Song and Bartender are nice.

Looking back, it's super weird how one single show got the only performances of LIOG, Lover Lay Down, What You Are and Typical. Those are some great songs to get, and they all happened in one show and never again, so far.

Even with more TDs coming out, I'm definitely feeling good about going to the two MSG shows. Not loving what I've seen since.

Who is going tomorrow though? Last I checked, floors were going for 20 bucks on stubhub. Anytime they think of playing Montreal again, I hope they just come to Toronto where people actually go see them. Though had I gone to Montreal last time, I would've seen Let You Down, which is something that will never happen again. Maybe they'll treat tomorrow like a chance to experiment in front of a half-sold crowd.

Once again, I think it comes down to that Dave knows MSG is special—-it’s special to him and to the fans and they have historically been that way. Fans travel miles to go them. so I do think Dave sat down and spent a lot more time making sure the shows were creative, different and had plenty of rarities etc thrown in.

For these one nighters or other venues, my guess is he doesn’t do that. It’s more of a “alright I’ll write up a set for tonight, when I’m done taking this poop” kind of thing. That’s my guess, and it makes sense honestly. Most of us would do that, and treat the routine shows differently, it’s human nature.

I’d like to think he really tries for every venue but it’s unrealistic and sets wouldnt like this if he did.

I'd have to agree. Bayou for some reason is one of the songs I dread hearing the most, and so happy when I get through a show without hearing it. I think I had a streak at one point where I had heard it 8 shows in a row that I went to, and it really got put on my shitlist. Samurai Cop is coming close, that shit better not get played next time I go. Not even attending a 2 nighter guarantees you that.

Jimi over bayou every single time, no question.

This was the set I expected Montreal to get. Bartender is a nice TD, they’ve kinda cooled on it the last few years.
