Humans with access like that should never resort to bullshit like a youtube pull. Ever. Truly embarrassing. Along with some of the album choices.

I went for a walk today and re-listened to the album front to back for the first time in quite awhile. Enjoyed it a lot actually. She, IOY, VITR, A&A, B&BB, COCO and DYR are all winners. Here On Out is also a quality song, despite being Dave and an orchestra. They did a good job with SamCop, but it doesn't have a DMB feel on the record without the horns being prominent.

I think the biggest surprise of the year for me is how much of a fan I've become of Can't Stop. This version, and especially the Batson Sessions version, completely change how I see the song. It's a quality DMB song, even though it's hard to let go of the baggage of the old versions.

And about the A&A love: They nailed the studio version. It's awesome. But live it still feels pretty empty to me. In the fall tour, Buddy started adding a bit more flash to it, which helps, but still, it's just a bit hollow overall. In 2016 the increased tempo made it feel a little less hollow. But either year, Dave's voice is never awesome live.

Song has never landed with me. I throw it in the DMB bucket of generic love songs, which has grown quite large.

Assuming you are starting after YNK and Hello Again, I'd rank it 4th.

1) Snow Outside
2) Why I Am
3) Lying In The Hands of God
4) Again and Again

So definitely up there for sure.

I like Again and Again a lot, but I'm not sure it would make my top 10 of post 2004 tunes.

He had some other follow up tweets as well. Hard to argue with what he is saying. He needs another go around with these guys.

Post 2004? I could easily see it being Top 5 if not Top 3.

Are we including the 2004 songs? Harder argument, but for sure one of their best since that time period.

Personally I would put the following ahead of A&A

Bismarck
Hands of God
Snow Outside
Broken Things
Squirm
Why I Am

And I’m not counting the 2004 songs (Crazy Easy, Sugar Will, Hello Again) which I think are all better.

Kill the King
You Might Die Trying
Why I Am
Seven
Lying in the Hands of God
Broken Things
Snow Outside
Bismarck
Again and Again
Here On Out

It absolutely kills me that the horns don't come in until the very, very end.

I feel like the early versions ("bob Law") back in 2016-2017 allowed Jeff and RR to be more part of the song...

Still love it though
