Jiffy Lube Live! | Bristow, VA | Jul 26, 2014

[Only registered users can see links.]
Saturday, July 26th, 2014
Bristow, VA

Venue Information:
Spoiler:
Jiffy Lube Live (formerly Nissan Pavilion at Stone Ridge or Nissan Pavilion) in Bristow, Virginia, is an outdoor live performance amphitheater in suburban Prince William County, about 35 miles west of Washington, DC. Owned and operated by Live Nation, the amphitheater can seat 25,000: 10,000 in reserved seats and 15,000 on the lawn, making it the largest music-oriented venue in the Washington Metropolitan Area.
The amphitheater opened in June 1995, with a performance by The Village People.
On January 8, 2010, the name “Nissan Pavilion” was dropped in favor of “Jiffy Lube Live” reflecting a new franchise agreement between Live Nation, the owner of the venue and Jiffy Lube Washington Area Co-op Inc., ([Only registered users can see links.] ), a group of 13 Jiffy Lube franchisees from Maryland and Virginia.
Since its opening, it has hosted a wide range of music artists in the summer season - including artists such as: Avenged Sevenfold, Green Day, Heart, Journey, Def Leppard, Poison, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, KISS, Aerosmith, Dave Matthews, Roger Waters, Yes, Dream Theater, Ozzy Osbourne, Mötley Crüe, Megadeth, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rob Zombie, 311, Pearl Jam, Slipknot, and more. Since 1995, Jimmy Buffett has played annually. The last performance of LeRoi Moore, the late saxophonist of The Dave Matthews Band, took place here and was later released as Live Trax Vol. 14. The amphitheater also annually holds WMZQfest in May and Mayhem Festival, usually in August. Other festivals and events include The Vans Warped Tour, America's Most Wanted Tour, Crüe Fest, Crüe Fest 2, Ozzfest, The 311 Unity Tour, The Area2 Festival, The Uproar Festival, Farm Aid, IDENTITY Festival, Projekt Revolution and American Idol Live!.
In February 2011 the venue posted to its website that it would strictly enforce its existing no-tailgating rule for its parking lots before and after concerts in conjunction with the Prince William County Police Department. Organizers cited safety concerns as reasons for the ban, though they planned to continue to sell alcohol inside the venue. In January 2012 the venue posted that tailgating would be returning with a set of rules posted on their website. [Only registered users can see links.]
Some high schools in Prince William County and Fauquier County hold their graduation ceremonies there each June. Senator Barack Obama held a rally for his 2008 presidential campaign here on June 5, 2008.

I've never been here before, but I am thinking about attending for the first time. What is the general consensus of the place?

I cannot stress the importance of Premiere Parking and arriving early quite enough. The standard parking lots are a NIGHTMARE at this venue and if you get stuck in the back corners, you can walk to your car for a half-hour only to sit inside it for 2 more hours. Premiere Parking is $30 or so and goes onsale when the regular tickets do. Buy it. Also, traffic backs up on the way IN as well, so arrive early and do some tailgating. Other than that, it's your run-of-the-mill outdoor concert venue.

Also, if you can take 78W to 81S to 15S all the way to 66, do it. It's a nice, relaxing, easy drive. 95/the spurs = a nightmare in the DC/Fairfax area.

I think so. I bought it through Ticketmaster the day they went onsale last year.

Yeah, google maps tacks on an extra half hour, but avoiding the headache of 95 is well worth it and Rt. 15 puts you right there after taking the scenic route and driving through Gettysburg, Frederick MD and Leesburg VA. (I stayed at the Courtyard Manassas - Battlefield Park, which was a great location and <$100 for the night, too).

I might add this one to the schedule depending on available funds this summer.

Awesome! Thank you so much. Yea, I am thinking about finally visiting C-Ville and then just hitting up the Bristow show.

Yeah, I'd imagine WH didn't get many, since I'm sure Live Nation wants to make money via the 'handling' charges, etc.

Really want to do this show, but I'm not sure if I should spring for the tickets/hotel/road trip.

I've already bought tickets through Live Nation. What are my options to purchase to Premiere Parking now? Is there even an opportunity to grab them?

Sold out. Best bet is to comb the boards or leave during the encore break to beat the traffic. You'll get to your car by the time the show's over.
