PossIbly maybe the drop the entire album on Spotify early if were lucky. Though they recently put up tons of the live trax series on Spotify within the last year too, so could just be a way to get people streaming that stuff too. Could also have something to do with BTCS anniversary as well. They did a ďliveĒ version of each studio album (all previously released tracks) just for Spotify a few years ago could be something like that again too. Wouldnít read too much into it. Weíll find out soon enough

My guess based on the lack of info and lack of promotion is that this album is much more likely coming out in the July-Sept timeframe rather than from now til June. Just because they guaranteed free album with ticket sale doesn’t mean it has to come out right when the tour starts.

Well, that seems a little more definitive.

I love how he calls out it won't be like SU. That post seems much more "management approved" than the night he went off with random info (although I'm sure that wasn't him going completely rogue either)

Maybe I am reading too much into what Batson is telling us or maybe I am just being unrealistically hopeful/optimistic but I am somewhat excited for this new album. Also encouraging Batson said it is not a hip hop album. Hopefully the band was able to explore and hopefully found something from the past to bring back out. Also, it seems that Batson even realizes that SU wasn't the bands best work with his "I think we nailed it seamlessly on AB but maybe not as seamless on others" quote.

If you told me three months ago that not only would Batson be involved, but that he'd be our main news source on this fucking album...

Dude is an even worse producer than I thought if he thought Stand Up was a "hip hop album".

Seriously. The presence of drum loops does not mean that itís Hip Hop.

I canít help but still wonder what the reason is for the band going back to use older recordings is. Iím not saying itís bad, in fact itís potentially exciting news, but whatís the reasoning behind it?

I have no clue what the reality is at this point, but I only see two possibilities:

1) All the shit Mark Batson is tweeting out is accurate information because Mark Batson is intimately involved in this album; or

2) This is all inaccurate information.

I'm hoping for the latter.

Come on guys, he knows what hip hop is. He has graciously let us know via his comments that
A) It was DMB that wanted a hip hop influenced album when they did Stand Up, not necessarily him.
B) They learned their lesson, and aren't doing that this time around.

Dude is a talented musician and producer. While he may not be the best fit for DMB as a "captain of the ship" type producer, I am hopeful that having him involved to some extent with the creation of this album is a good thing.

I can’t imagine that even with DMB basically asleep at the wheel when it comes to getting any info out lately that they’d allow someone associated with the band to disseminate that much bad info without saying anything about it.

Not to get all bent out of shape, but at some point it's a disservice/insulting to your fan base and the people that have spend a shit ton of money on you for all these years.

Especially when they have no real reason to be so secretive.
