I would think that if he wears contacts, we would have seen at least a single picture of him with glasses at some point over the years, and we haven't. I guess it's possible that he's had lasik, but I would then think that he would have had glasses and/or contacts before that, and, again, we've never seen a picture of him with glasses to my recollection.

How in all the shows and songs I’ve listened to over the years have I never heard him cough/sneeze/hiccup/ burp while he’s singing? I get that he’s a pro and it’s his job but every once in a while just seems like it would happen

I know there's a pad in front of the mic that activates the mic when he stands on it (it was under those oriental rugs they used to have on stage), so if he has to sneeze or whatever, he can just step away and it won't be picked up. Not sure about the early years, though, as I doubt they had anything that sophisticated at frat shows.

Recently broadcast shows Iíve seen him cough or cough to clear his throat. Seems to just quickly turn is head away from the mic for a beat and do it.

I have been looking for a poster of the band and I can't believe the prices that second hand or even new posters go for. It doesn't surprise me as I saw people buying up posters 10 at a time at the last show I was at. Anyone have any tips to grab one for my 7 year old son that is $20 or so? He wanted one for his room and I thought it would be easy. He doesn't need a show specific poster just one that has the band.

Edit: I should have said when I saw 10 people at a time buying posters it was at 25th anniversary art show. I'm guessing that's not allowed at a show.

They bought it from the Grateful Dead. Someone there manually created it using parts from a home security alarm system.

It has a keys solo. Roi and Boyd are present. The quality is exceptional. It is only pretty girl, no other interpolations. Does anyone know what release this is from? My guess is it's been in my iTunes for a long time. I went through by time in iTunes and it doesn't match up with any others. Looking at the almanac I don't see anything that matches during the butch years. I also don't really remember Butch taking a solo, but I'm probably just getting old. Does anyone know what this is?
One of these?

Itís definitely an outlier for sure. No, butch just has an extended solo. Even the Pretty Girl is short. Pretty cool version.

So why do we think the band just doesn't release SBD's of their whole catalogue at this point? Do they make more money doing the one-off live trax because they package with shirts and posters and such? Is it a work/bandwidth issue?

Id guess yes since they mix things and pay people to make it sound good. They also seem to love monetizing everything by selling tshirt, or a poster or a dog bowl for a live release. Hell, even the free streams they have tried to monetize for themselves with a poster (plus raising money for charity)

Interesting article about the day Jerry Garcia died, Mickey Hart mentions Carter Beauford being with him that day...

Quote:
I went down to our office in San Rafael. Phil and Bob were there, and [Robert] Hunter, Vince [Welnick], and [publicist] Dennis McNally. People in the office were crying. We hugged and then we went our separate ways. I was a wreck. Carter Beauford [of the Dave Matthews Band] was setting up drums in my home studio for some overdubs for an album I was doing. Carter played the session, and I didnít want him to go home. I knew I had to be around music with other people. That was the day. It was beyond belief.

At least as of a few years ago, the band also doesn't want to. Stefan said he thought they released too much as it is.
