Tim announced a new album called Venus Transit yesterday, coming out on Wednesday. I assume it will be digital-only for now with a physical release later. I also assume it's acoustic only, but we'll see. Nothing on his website yet, but I'm sure that's where it will be available.

Rashawn out would take this band from a relative 7.5 to a 9+. He thinks he's valuable, and although I appreciate his enthusiasm for his involvement, guy is persona non grata.

I wouldnít mind Dave, Carter, and Stefan one day with different horns, guitars, violinists, keys, banjos, etc. guests at different shows one day. That would be unique, spontaneous, and songs would sound different from show to show.

I don't mean it insultingly though. This is a good album! They actually released Magic Bullet 4 years ago, and it's still one of the best on the album.
Overall though, this isn't as good as The Waterfall, in my opinion. That album is phenomenal.
If we didnít know they were from the same sessions, people would not make the b-sides comment. WF2 stands up completely as itís own album. Clearly different vibe than what made up WF1.

I like both, and am happy to have them side by side.

Beach Ball is such an underserved song.

It's quintessential DMB.

I agree that itís distinct, but that doesnít change the objective fact that itís an album of outtakes. It is very good regardless.

When DMB plays a private gig for a big company - does that prohibit the band from releasing that show or songs from it?

I was looking at some private sets wondering if there was a random gem - like dreaming tree.

I’d be curious to hear a few things from Butch’s final show, 4/1/08.

A great Dave riff

Although I think they devolved it recently with the quick snare shits. Same with Hello Again. How is this band so fucking good but they constantly fuck up great things??

Im not sure they record the private shows. Even if they do, theyíre probably nothing against them releasing it but I would assume out of courtesy and respect to the people they wouldnít.

Totally disagree. Think the new version moves the needle more than the old. But that may be unpopular. Oh well.

So I follow copperpot on twitter and he posted a 2019 clip of Raven. How long has Dave been playing PlaySkool chords too it? Holy shit, it’s like a color By Numbers version of a formerly great song. Christ....

I'd not seen any of those versions of Raven... and yeah, it seems like he's been doing it for over 10 years. disappointing.
